The Great Pyrenees puppies are almost 6 weeks old. It is going to be a sad day when they leave, but I won't miss cleaning up the endless amount of shit.

The rescue has officially put them up for adoption. I don't think it is going to take long.

Here are some pictures from this weekend.

So so cute!

Yep, that would be my dogs right there. If I was ever in an emergency, they would do their best to make things much, much worse. But they would do it with their tails wagging while looking for a belly rub.

And I love those dumbass mutts.

My male newfie does that on the couch.

I’ve been looking for durable dog chews for a few months. Got a deer antler and it started off great. Gave it to her Sunday and it’s just about gone (Thursday). I also gave her a femur bone but it seems she buried it somewhere in the yard. I cannot find it anywhere.

We have a Kong, she just doesn’t love it. Same with nyla bones or whatever the synthetics are.

What else am I missing?

I’ll stick to antlers if I can find them cheaper.

Well, the boys...and girl are having a good visit6a13747364727f03ce2902005c38a49b.jpg

Rocket's back living that cone-free life, at least till it's time to operate on the next hip. He's recovering really well, considering he had part of his femur removed.

My dogs are major chewers. Water buffalo horns are favorites. For plush toys, the only ones that've ever lasted more than a day are Fluff n'Tuff brand. The beach ball is the best one because it doesn't have a head or limbs for them to chew off instantly, but others that have lasted a long time (more than a few weeks) are the caterpillar and hippo. In Austin you can get them at Kriser's on Great Hills, but they also have them on Amazon.

Puppy update...

They did get worms, but we're treating them.  They will be good.

One person submitted an application through the rescue for one of the males, but they will not be getting one.  Their background and and look at their property didn't quite pass.  We told the rescue that there is no rush to get them adopted.  They have a home here as long as it takes to get them into good homes that will take care of them.

This dog was hours away from dying. Now she's a beast.

They usually always get worms from their mom.

Sunday I witnessed a young punk abandoning a puppy. Just stopped, looked around to make sure nobody was watching, and ran to the middle of a field and dropped off the little guy and then ran back to his car and sped off.

I went over and picked him up. Took him back to the house and set him up on the front porch with some water and a towel. My dogs wanted to murder him. Dachshunds are incredibly territorial and possessive. Like "Fuck that puppy, you're my human, asshole" possessive. I've got no more bandwidth for a 3rd dog.

Went on facebook and asked if anyone would take him in. Of course it got shared about 50 times, eventually a guy I know and trust stepped up and took him. 2 days later and at least a dozen people that I'm not even connected to are asking if hes still available, and would it be too much trouble to drive him to Florida? (From Beaumont). Then of course all the busybodies commenting that I should demand the police check out any surveilance cams to find the abandoner and then have him strenuously prosecuted (lady, go for it. I already have a job.), and that I immediately need to go drop a grand on the dog at the vet to rule out all health problems before I give him to anybody. Or that I need to check out the rescuer to make sure hes not going to use the pup as a "bait dog." (what's that?)

Breed unknown, I suspect he is about 7 weeks old?

I refused to name him (you name him, you own him) but the guy said he was gonna name him "Huevo"

Bump because it’s needed.

All the shit going on in today’s world and Eli (no pics today) is unconditional in his love.  My wife had a meeting tonight and he’s downstairs waiting for her to come home. God bless all of your pooches and you too.  Stay safe and stay healthy.

Stan is loving San Antonio. He has a pool and a big picture window to watch over the neighborhood.

So the IMs asking for the pup grew exponentially over the last few days. . .mainly people from other states. . .I rarely post on FB, just use it to wish people happy birthday, so I haven't been monitoring my page, just replying "pup has been adopted, thanks!" to all the IMs. . .then I noticed this morning my post was shared 1800+ times. . .that explains a lot.

Borba Wuevo Rosales (the dog, now with a name) is doing well btw.  Went to the vet and everything.
