The dynamic duo will be making the move to Austin at the end of the year. For the old man, this will be his 12th?? home in his 5th city since my wife adopted him a decade ago. He's the easiest pet ever.

They’re not exactly doing any favors for the cleanliness of your concrete pad, either.

You have no idea. It is fucking unbelievable how much dirt these fucks can transport in their clydesdale hooves.

Rini, who is about to turn 11 on November 1, is going in for surgery tomorrow to remove tumors from her anal glands. All her labs and blood work have combed back good, and she seems healthy, but we won’t know anything until after the CT scan tomorrow morning. She (and I, obviously) would appreciate your positive thoughts.

Sending white light to Rini, you got this!

Quick Rini update.

CT scan looked good. They saw nothing anywhere else, and she was doing well under anesthesia. The surgery went well. The one on the left was a bit of a challenge due to location, but they got it and the right one (which was small and just wanted it to come out just in case) just the same. She work up, is resting, and seems to be comfortable. She will stay there until late afternoon, and then I can get her provided no complications.

Thanks everyone for all the good thoughts.

Moving forward, I'm going to have any dog's anal glands removed. I have one who has to have them expressed every three or four months.

"We can show you how to do it yourself."

"No thanks. $16 seems like a good price to not have to do it myself. "

Just got a call from the vet.  She is up and walking around, seems to be doing very well.  I get to go pick her up this afternoon between 2-3.  Poor Harvey was really confused last night.

Properly named that thing is.  Good girl Rini.  Hope she doesn't bang into everything all night like mine did when they wore it.

"What are doing, Blue?"

Oh...

It’s remarkably difficult to type while your hand is being licked.

I feel the same about Samson’s nails. $10 a month and no blood? Deal.

So are you Michael or Jack?

Quick poll:

1.  What size is your dog and how do you transport it in the car?  (trunk, hatch, truck bed, crate, etc?)

2.  Is it strapped to seatbelt?

Mine's a dense 30# and she just chills in her doggie bed in the backseat.  I feel guilty about not keeping her strapped to the seatbelt for long drives

Eli is 80 lbs.  He rides in the backseat and sits leaning against the seatback or he lays down.  He's outstanding in the car and god help the poor soul that tries to get close to that car when my wife is in it.  He does not like strangers near his car.

Mine are 63, 50, and 40 pounds. They ride sleeping in the back seat. All three go smooth to sleep as soon as they get in the car.  Have the entire backseat covered with one of those dog hammocks. Those things are great. Keep the hair contained. Just pull it out and toss it in the wash.

265# of Newfies.  We put them in the way back.  Would be tough to seat belt them.

Luna is around 80#. She rides in the hatch back where there are air bags in case of an accident.

That baby looks like my Bailey who left us in 2017.  Thanks for posting.

Two sixty pound labs. In my wife’s explorer they sit in the very back, in my F150 they sit in the floor of my back seats with the seats folded up. They conk out pretty good. Get a little gassy sometimes, much to my wife’s chagrin

The secret is to stop short once or twice and toss them into the back of the front seats. They learn to stay laying down in the car.

175, 145, and the old coon hound is about 60. The old man does not travel with the mastiffs because they're scared to death of him. He just chills in the back seat. The two big uns try to stick their fat heads out of the same window.

Yep, she has one now. She really only needs it when I'm not at home or asleep. She isn't even trying to get at the wound or her pain patch.
