Who is on your NFL players Mount Rushmore?

Tom Brady

Jerry Rice

For sure

Possibilities to fill out remaining

Emmitt Smith

Jim Brown

Joe Montana

Having trouble thinking of defensive guys. Would you split yours 2 offensive, 2 defensive?

Tom Brady

A bunch of other guys way the fuck below him, and I’m a Cowboys fan.

maybe start with

Jim Brown

Jerry Rice

Lawrence Taylor

Brady, Brown and Rice are no doubters.

Montana used to be but Rice and Brady move him off imo.  4 is debatable  but I would go with Manning.

Jim Brown

Johnny Unitas

Dick Butkus

Tom Brady

If we are really doing a true Mt Rushmore you need some early generation guys  (Washington and Jefferson) a bridge (Lincoln) and the recent guy to it being built (Teddy)

From Michael Smith / Pro Football Talk:

Brady has had 17 (healthy) seasons as a starter and been to the Super Bowl 9 times. The last 6 QBs inducted into the Hall of Fame (Warner, Favre, Stabler, Moon, Marino, Young) were starters for a combined 76 seasons and went to a total of 8 Super Bowls.

1. Jerry Rice

2. Lawrence Taylor

3. Tom Brady

4. Barry Sanders

That's it.

brady is the only player that’s not open to debate.  figuring out the the other three will just become a useless shit flinging waste of time.

just carve brady’s face into the side of a mountain and be done with it.

SB is a factor, with regard to ‘clutchicity’.

Brady’s whole body of work is a little bit supportive of him being the GOAT as well.  It’s not like he’s Larry Brown or Timmy Smith.

#4 arguably wasn’t even the best RB of his era and you’re suggesting greatest ever?

Lolz.

Even Jim Brown says it was him, Earl and then however you want to list the rest.

You would probably have an easier time doing a Mount Rushmore of QB's. How could you argue Lawrence Taylor versus Barry Sanders? Madness I tell you.

For QB's I would go

Brady, Montana, Manning, and Brees just edging out Marino

brady, aikman, michael irvin, emmitt smith.

that’s it.

The sad thing is that many of the greats, we have never seen play in real life, as in Terry Bradshaw or Joe Namath...

He's a fucking I-tay now.  You can't put a fucking I-tay on  Mt Rushmore

Much like Eli Manning, those guys were really only great during playoff runs. Pretty pedestrian the rest of the time.

This is impossible unless we do it by position.

This is correct.....but to start, the no-brainers are:

RB:  Earl

QB:  Tom Brady

Corner:  Deion Sanders

Well Homer, there's not any one of those four that Allen could replace without an argument. Good luck with that Asperger's though.

larry allen would flat out destroy all four of them in an oklahoma drill.  that is without argument.

You have to include Phil "The Claw" Pozderac just for his holding prowess.

We still doing the sanders over smith shit.  Nice.

Perhaps, but I'm the douchebag that left the WR position out entirely.

montana is still on there.  yeah, brady has more rings, but 1) brady has never thrown a touchdown in the first quarter of a super bowl; 2) brady has never blown anyone out in a superbowl, let alone a hall of famer.

Not sure if I would put Brees on the QB Rushmore, either. No love for Johnny U?

My Mt Rushmore would be

Koy Detmer

Marion Butts

Steve Pelluer

Jeff Feagles

edit: the 3 put on the board in the first quarter of LII was the first time they scored points at all in the first quarter of a superbowl under brady.

I’m not questioning its veracity.  just its relevance.

for example, I’d say the fact that he has won the game five times is a touch more relevant than his 1st quarter stats.  but that’s just me.

it's relevant as to why you keep montana up there with 4 rings and having destroyed people in the SB.
