That was like a late night drunken goodbye, thanking everyone and sniffling.

Olivia Colman was incredible in The Favourite.  She’s even better at acting than her dad is at making mustard.

Agree. She deserved the Oscar. She was amazing in the Favourite

Olivia Colman rules. Haven’t seen that flick but she was fantastic in Broadchurch and The Night Manager. She seems as genuine as anyone in that industry can be.

Can’t wait for her in The Crown.

Guillermo is going to play the ocean in the next Pacific Rim movie

So, several books took Best Director off the board earlier today because it was thought that the winner was leaked (was supposed to be Yorgos Lanthimos).

Ha, Cuaron.

Once you saw Guillermo out there to present you knew who was gonna win.

5 of the last 6 years the best director has been from Mexico. Gotta get that wall built... sorry couldn't resist.

So with a minimum of splashy performance sequences, no monologues from a host, and it's 10 past 10 and we're still not done.

Why don't they just start at 4 pacific?  Or move the don't-care categories to the technical event 2 weeks ago or whenever it was.

He won it last year, which is why he presented it.

Agreed.  She's a treasure who Americans don't really know much about.  All of her fellow actors love her too....

They already did.  They moved 4 awards off tonight, they should simply start an hour earlier.

Green Book wins Best Pic.... Interesting.  It's was a really solid, feel good flick, but not a great film.  It was a poor year for "Oscar films".

Right before the show an article came out explaining the voting and said that in a year with divisive films the "most liked" would win.

Too many people were unwilling to pick Roma because of Netflix and the Favorite was just too weird

And the guy who co-created Dumb and Dumber now has three Oscars.

JLo at 49, Babs at 76, Julia Roberts at 51

All still looking damn good.

Mildly shocked it was not Black Panther.

Wasn't even the best Marvel pic of the year....

Don't know if it's best pic, but I dig Vigo so I'm cool with it. Not like any of the others were barn burners.

Mexican directors OWN the oscars.

Right, but Academy voters don't often choose the best anything.

Finally having seen it, surprised Shoplifters didn’t get more run. That’s a great film.

How does that work? Members are asked to rank all of the best picture nominees from best to worst — and then the rest is handled by PwC, the Academy's longtime accountants. PwC begins by sorting through the best picture ballots and creating piles for each film listed in the top spot on a ballot. This year, for example, there will be one pile in which Roma is listed as top film, another for Green Book, etc.

Yeah. Preferential voting probably should go and they should lower it back to 5 nominees.  I was stunned it won screenplay given the backlash.  But best picture?   Wow.

I really don't see how that wins over The Favourite, but whatever.

Glad Colman got it.

10 years from now this will be in the bottom 10 worst picture winners ever with Crash, The Artist, and (ducking) Forrest Gump.

Calling it even though I haven’t seen it.

The Favourite was kind of a finger in the eye of the self-important costume drama so I'm not surprised.

It’ll be lumped in with this era. I was amazed how ‘meh Shape of Water was.
