Well, I'll be at the game Wednesday.  Look for the guy in the Longhorn hat trying to feign interest.

Transcendent men self-identify by the age of 19 or 20 at the latest. Transcendent talent is typically discovered at around the age of 9 or 10, and must be cultivated and nourished for the next 4

US Soccer is in the midst of a lost generation. A few articles have been written about how the generation born between 1990 and 1994, which should be the backbone of the program, have yielded very few

As long as we get into a World Cup group with three Caribbean teams, we should be okay.

I'd wait until Wednesday night before jumping to that conclusion

BTW, that's why you don't sit your entire starting team in the 3rd game of group stage regardless of the fact that the team was already headed to the next round.   The complacency and disjointedness was in full effect tonight.

Cool. The USA is at the same level as all these countries the size of Dallas county.

Curaçao has 160,000 people...

That’s the number of people who claim to live in Preston Hollow!

Berhalter hasn’t shown the ability to make any kind of adjustments to his tactics when teams like T&T and Curaçao have gameplanned against us.

I put this in the 2018 thread which I'm not sure why we dug - ztejas confused.

Okay now I'm sober and not distracted by Kate.

Last night I couldn't help but think how much higher this team's ceiling is with Adams on the pitch. In his most recent games he was almost always our best or 2nd best player out there - and I think outside of Pulisic he changes our dynamic more than any other player.

We should have put 2 in the net last night and probably should have conceded one. Some games end 1-0, some games end 2-1, we could have gotten unlucky and lost but I thought for the most part our back line didn't suck and Steffen was really good. Our finishing was shit. No one helped Pulisic whether it was creating chances or simply putting the ball on target.

We need more talent in the midfield. Bradley is too slow. McKinnie is a solid player but seems to be more keen on making runs than playing through balls or really creating/orchestrating the attack.

With Berhalter's insistence on playing everything from the back (which is a topic for another post) Adams is incredibly valuable to what this team is capable of. Optimally Bradley packs his bags and Adams is our starting 6 for the next 12 years - but even if we are slotting him out of position he makes us instantly better by simply being out there.

So that said, I hope he gets healthy because we will need him for WC qualifying and to have any shot of competing in 2022. A gold cup win with this roster would be nice but I'm trying to step back and look at the larger picture, and I think that there have been flashes of the quality of play that we should strive for and ultimately expect. We just need to be more consistent, continue to build chemistry and work in some better talent as this young crop matures.

I'm not sure what he was thinking per the subs.

The tactics suck.

I mean, are our fullbacks supposed to help down the wings or not?

Zardes is not a holding 9.  His "skill" set involves quick countering and receiving the ball @ angles toward the net; not holding at midfield and starting the play.

And the first time this team completes a series of triangle passes, I'll probably pass out in shock.  I can't believe that full-grown, professional soccer players can't play themselves out of trouble in the back with a triangle.  My sorry ass adult team can do it.

If only we had a young, versatile striker prospect that displays competent hold up play in addition to finishing ability and creativity with the ball.

You know it's bad when I see the same problems my 9 year old son's team has during their games.................

That list is a little depressing. Also Reyna for 5.9 million was pretty damn high for that period, I mean Ronaldo only cost Manu $21 back in 2003.

Speaking of Captain America, he has a son named Giovanni who apparently does not suck at the soccer. Hope he follows in Pulisic's footsteps.

He could be better than Claudio when its all said and done, but a long ways to go. We need to keep the pipe with Dortmund flowing.

Emerson Hyndman, son of former FC Dallas & longtime SMU coach Schellas, who went to Fulham at 15, after EIGHT FREAKING YEARS bouncing around Britain, is joining Atlanta on loan from Bournemouth.  He should have stayed at Rangers 2 years ago.  Bournemouth fucked his career.

Grandson

...although Schellas is closer in age to Emerson than my dad is to me, they are still TWO generations apart.

Getting excited for tonight.  12 year-old's first US game.  Not sure it'll too his first Texas game (Iowa St).

We're starting Reggie Cannon, Altidore and Jozy and giving the captain armband to Tim Ream.

Not sure Berhalter could do anything to surprise me at this point.

He could win this tournament.

Going with dreads with male pattern baldness is always a bold move.

Well, at least they've come out with some heart, unlike the 2nd half the other night.

oh you play in the mls.

You can say that again.

Bundesliga finishing there.

What Fireman said.

Four excellent goal-scoring opportunities inside the first 10 minutes and we finally convert.

It's like a different team.

Lol at this finishing.

Aaron Long is the Eric Montross of right backs. What a stiff.

This level of passing hasn’t been seen by our men’s team in a long time, if ever.  Beautiful movement

Don't order pizza for the players - Tom Herman.

Kind of killed a great start for us...

Hey @Knoxtnhorn, can you keep bringing your kid to the games? Thanks.
