September 11, 20196 yr They should've already had one thanks to some horrible marking/decision making on the part of our defense, but Rodriguez's first touch let him down.
September 11, 20196 yr Boyd's free kick was a lot closer than I thought. Not sure if Muslera would've gotten to that.

September 11, 20196 yr Guzan made a real mess out of that... Very schoolboy mistake. Fortunately nothing comes from it for the Urinary-guys.

September 11, 20196 yr When the opposition just clearly doesn’t give a shit when your center backs have the ball close to the halfway line, they’re probably not good enough to pass it out of the back. Goddamnit

September 11, 20196 yr I like Sargent Edited September 11, 20196 yr by drt Probably should be obvious
September 11, 20196 yr You can't expect the match referee to catch every handball, certainly not one in a critical area like the box with the defender's hand clearly outstretched in an unnatural position.

I suppose the same question could be asked in regard to Pomykal. Didn't want Ream to play tonight as I don't think he's going to be part of the 2020 roster, but he's easily been our best defender tonight.
September 11, 20196 yr Is there some reason why the US never has someone try to delay these runs that come out of the midfield? You have to have someone engage the ball to slow it down and deny the open run through the middle. It’s soccer 101.

Ream is from St. Louis so I'm fine with him getting to start in his home town. Robinson has been having a great season for Atlanta which doesn't mean it's going to translate to the National Team by any means, but the guy has been one of the best, if not the best, CB's in MLS this year. If playing at a really high level in MLS doesn't get you a legitimate look with the national team, particularly when they don't have a ton of quality depth at that position right, what's even the point?
September 11, 20196 yr oh yes, but we're trying to hold on to the last few seconds and score so we can cover the line like aggy..
September 11, 20196 yr Six guys defending three and they still had oodles of space to get a shot on goal.

September 11, 20196 yr Author Apparently Argentina is better than the USMNT and doesn't even have to have the ball that much to prove it.

Oh and Sargent is basically Aubameyang, so we're all good.
