It's so sad the USMNT had a gut check game against Canada, but hey it's nice to win.

Transcendent men self-identify by the age of 19 or 20 at the latest. Transcendent talent is typically discovered at around the age of 9 or 10, and must be cultivated and nourished for the next 4

US Soccer is in the midst of a lost generation. A few articles have been written about how the generation born between 1990 and 1994, which should be the backbone of the program, have yielded very few

I shouldn't bitch but... it was just such a junky game.  Kind of reminded me of the difference when I switch from an EPL game to an MLS game.  Just a lot of both teams profiting because the other screwed up.  Oh well, on to Tuesday.

This stadium...I keep expecting to see a group of old ladies walking laps to stay in shape

Agree.  I was watching and kept telling myself not to bitch during a win but.... I kept thinking about this exact play v. a team like Mexico or Costa Rica.  At the end of the game, I'd say there were about 2 US players that could/should be on the field against a real team.

Pots: 2020 Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifying

Pot 1 (Seeds): Mexico, Honduras.
Pot 2 (North America): USA, Canada.
Pot 3 (Central America): Costa Rica, El Salvador.
Pot 4 (Caribbean): Dominican Republic, Haiti
Draw: Jan. 9, 2020. Finals: March 20-April 1, 2020 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Up 4-0 in the 71st minute. Seems like a good time to give him a go. Either way, making the bench at 17 for Dortmund is pretty damn impressive.

Although USSF has no youth coaches appointed except for Kreis for U23s and Berhalter has made more mistakes than the team has scored goals, I like this Camp Cupcake call up of U23 potential key players with regular call ups.

GK Hamid, Turner, or Johnson // Marcinkowski

RB Cannon // Araujo

CB Long // McKenzie

CB Zimmerman // Glad

LB Gasper // Vines

M6 Yuiell // Cappis, Kayo

M8/M10 (2 of) Lletget, Roldan, // Aaronson, Pomykal

RW Morris // Llanez

FW Zardes // Ferreira

LW Arriola // Lewis

Anthony Hudson was named coach of the U20 team and the reviews are not great guys!

I'm a lifelong Cowboy fan, graduate of UT, and (used to be) a fanatic supporter of US Soccer.

Good to know I'm connected to three of the most mismanaged franchises/university in the country.

@Hagbard Celine, you have a call on the burnt orange courtesy phone.

This is almost like watching fucking Pee-Wee Herman give all his friends jobs at Texas.

This should probably be posted on the USMNT 2020 thread as well. 👍

McBride is one of my all-time favorite Nats, but not sure what he alone can do to fight the status quo.

I'm confused by the idea that McBride is going to "fight the status quo". He's the former teammate of Stewart and Berhalter, is being hired by the current leadership, and has basically no experience in a similar role to indicate he's going to do something different.

Nothing gets by you. Good to see.

Agree.  Stewart was pretty cool in my book too, until he got his hands on the management of the US team.
