I posted this in the other thread, but 247 released the "my five-stars" lists from various recruiting writers: https://247sports.com/Article/Five-star-player-rankings-football-recruiting-experts-128209822/

Steve Wiltfong has three A&M 5*, but the two other than Leal are not the ones you would expect: Dylan Wright, and Demani Richardson. His only Texas 5* is Bru McCoy. https://247sports.com/UserRanking/Steve-Wiltfong-9165/UserPlayerRankings/

Barton Simmons' is pretty uninteresting, besides the omission of Whittington: https://247sports.com/UserRanking/Barton-Simmons-8607/UserPlayerRankings/

Bobby Burton has John Emery at #1, Branson Bragg as #2 and four Texas commits as 5*: Bru, Whittington, Floyd, and Owens - https://247sports.com/UserRanking/BobbyBurton-9201/UserPlayerRankings/

Perroni's doesn't deviate from the consensus that much, except for Texas - no Whittington or Owens: https://247sports.com/UserRanking/Brian-Perroni-9190/UserPlayerRankings/

Damon Sayles has Leal as the #1 overall recruit and also didn't include Whittington or Owens; somewhat surprisingly, he did not list Cupp as a 5* either: https://247sports.com/UserRanking/Damon-Sayles-9185/UserPlayerRankings/

OU's writer, Brandon Drumm, has four OU 5* in the top 15: Rattler (3), Haselwood (8), Wease (10), and Bridges (12!). He has Whittington, Owens, and Bru as 5*. https://247sports.com/UserRanking/Brandon-Drumm-9210/UserPlayerRankings/

Burton has a Center who played for a 4A school #2??!!?  Does he realize this isn't basketball?

Nat King Cole was awesome though. I think he was dying of cancer as the movie was made.

Yes he was, he died a few months later.  I think Nat had already passed away when Marvin won the 1965 Academy Award For Best Actor in a Major Motion Picture.

Clearly perroni's list came out prior to us getting bru.

If Casey can be patient he's in a good spot. Sit, learn, work for two more years, win the job and be the man as an experienced RS Junior. Get two years as QB1, win the conference, hopefully compete for a NC. Be awesome.

Who knows, Sam could turn pro early.  I think Casey should be able to hold RJ off initially.

Sam isn't turning pro.

Herb Hand visited Georgia Tech grad transfer OL Parker Braun yesterday. He has a younger brother who's a 2020 recruit: https://247sports.com/Player/Joshua-Braun-83391/

Rep for the reference to the 80s anti-drug commercial.

Shit your link says he's their best player and probably the best lineman Paul Johnson has coached. Hope we can land him.

Any concerns about an offensive lineman who's been in a triple option system for the past few years?

It's certainly something to watch, as well as his capacity to add weight. Still worth a look.

Possibly a center take with his size?

Starting guard with the potential to slide over if something happens to Shack, though Herman may not be comfortable doing that with someone who will only get reps in the system during fall camp.

Given that GT passed 9.7 times per game, I am going to go with pass protection.

To be fair, he couldn't be worse in pass pro than Vahe, could he?

Vahe served the program well but I will never forget watching him try to pass block the Notre Dame DL as a true freshman starting in his first game. It was...not pretty.

Damn I love seeing our OL coach and recruiting team work their asses off for quality recruits. What a great in on the younger brother.

Per Nahlin, on Braun:

Heard the meeting with Hand went great. Hand did a great job of selling academics. There will be an UOV "soon." He has an aunt in Austin as luck would have it.

None, the dude understands leverage and has exceptional footwork. Besides, looking at GT's OL they preferred smaller guys, don't need 320+ guys to cut block. He should be able to gain weight should he need.

Does Aunt Ginny have a barn? We could BBQ ribs there. I could sew the moneybags, maybe Uncle Goober could be the handler?
