We use pork rinds with guacamole and salsa, not even close to a good tortilla chip but better than nada.

I used to do a lot of pork rinds in my early keto/atkins days, but I gave them up because of all the salt and grease and stuff. There's always celery sticks, but I burned out on them years ago.

HEB store-brand Chicken Broth is by far the most flavorful of any brand. Tastes damn near homemade.

I think that's why HEB stuff is often better than other big brand stuff. It's mostly made in San Antonio, made more recently not too far from being fresh, probably fewer preservatives for longer term storage.

Papasitos pork rinds with white queso is a game changer

Their canned chili is BOGO right now (at least at the Hudson Oaks location), didn’t appear to be a limit. Chili dogs & Frito pie, come on down.

These are better than the HEB low carb tortillas and have fewer carbs

I mean, I literally just looked up both and Mission Carb Balance has 19/13 fiber for a total of 6 net carbs. HEB low carb tortillas has 13/9 for a total of 4 net carbs. Mission has 50% more net carbs. Are you talking about different sized tortillas? Links:

Weirdly the mission website doesn't match the nutrition label from the other ones, but the same net carbs, 4, as HEB.

Yes, I get the smaller sized Mission ones which have fewer carbs than the same sized HEB brand ones when I compared them side by side in the store.

I think the HEB version also has a better texture, more like a regular tortilla.

The HEB Pork Al Pastor and Meatloaf aren’t bad. Just follow the instructions and add fresh onion.

Fuck low carb tortillas

I had the HEB Al Pastor on these yesterday, first time I had seen the corn version and they were quite good. Added Onion, Cilantro, Salsa, and a little pineapple to the tacos and they were great.

I’m guessing a hydraulic leak on the piston for the baler. Shits high pressure and flammable yo

I mostly just drink water these days, but lately have been indulging in the occasional ginger beer.  This stuff is legit.  I have not tried the non-clementine version yet, but will do a taste test on my next CM run.

I saw this in the magazine. It says each of the 350 stores employs a tortilla maker. I’ve  never seen them at the Far West location. I need to go up there and ask where they keep this lady. Far West HEB has Kosher options galore but I never see fresh tortillas.

Sun-dried tomato mac and cheese is amazing, especially for you vegetarians or if you're doing meatless Monday or some shit. It's in the in-store-made microwavable prepared meal section and was on special yesterday for $4 I think. It doesn't look nearly as good as it is -- it's up there among my favorite grab-and-go cook-at-home meals in both the oven and microwave categories.

if prime 1 hadn't already jumped the shark with brisket burgers, this week prime 1 chuck roast is on sale.

also i spotted "heirloom" navel oranges.  now, don't get me wrong, i like an heirloom tomato as much as, and probably more than, the next guy.  but a navel orange?  a navel orange is a clipping of a clipping of a clipping of a single tree with a genetic mutation in brazil a couple hundred years ago.  might as well sell an heirloom haas avocado.

pretty damn interesting story

My friend swears by their pork tamales.  He gets them every week.

As for pork rinds, I like using them with the dips you can find in the deli sections of HEB and Walmart.  HEB has artichoke/jalapeno, ranch, dill, spinach, raspberry chipotle.  Walmart's artichoke/jalapeno is superior, though.  I haven't tried their others.

I don't know why they call them "heirloom", but we've found they're one of the best reasonably priced small oranges.  Probably just a marketing description, but we buy them when available.

The Central Market branded tamales are fucking awesome. Especially the green chile chicken flavor. Huge tamales and great flavor.

And I think the HEB ones are slighty better, but mostly in texture, a bit softer and usually seem fresher. Neither have a ton of flavor, bu they serve their purpose.

...which was certainly worth repeating. I go through a few packs per month. I get both brands, because the are often out of one or the other.

And now that I know they’re made with palm oil I can’t buy them again until I hear more about their source. Fuck you for posting this. I hate you all. Until I sober up again.
