I think that's why HEB stuff is often better than other big brand stuff. It's mostly made in San Antonio, made more recently not too far from being fresh, probably fewer preservatives for longer term storage.

January 24, 20205 yr Their canned chili is BOGO right now (at least at the Hudson Oaks location), didn’t appear to be a limit. Chili dogs & Frito pie, come on down.
January 29, 20205 yr The HEB Pork Al Pastor and Meatloaf aren’t bad. Just follow the instructions and add fresh onion.

Yes, I get the smaller sized Mission ones which have fewer carbs than the same sized HEB brand ones when I compared them side by side in the store.

February 13, 20205 yr I mostly just drink water these days, but lately have been indulging in the occasional ginger beer. This stuff is legit. I have not tried the non-clementine version yet, but will do a taste test on my next CM run.

February 18, 20205 yr Sun-dried tomato mac and cheese is amazing, especially for you vegetarians or if you're doing meatless Monday or some shit. It's in the in-store-made microwavable prepared meal section and was on special yesterday for $4 I think. It doesn't look nearly as good as it is -- it's up there among my favorite grab-and-go cook-at-home meals in both the oven and microwave categories.
February 18, 20205 yr if prime 1 hadn't already jumped the shark with brisket burgers, this week prime 1 chuck roast is on sale. also i spotted "heirloom" navel oranges. now, don't get me wrong, i like an heirloom tomato as much as, and probably more than, the next guy. but a navel orange? a navel orange is a clipping of a clipping of a clipping of a single tree with a genetic mutation in brazil a couple hundred years ago. might as well sell an heirloom haas avocado. February 19, 20205 yr My friend swears by their pork tamales. He gets them every week. As for pork rinds, I like using them with the dips you can find in the deli sections of HEB and Walmart. HEB has artichoke/jalapeno, ranch, dill, spinach, raspberry chipotle. Walmart's artichoke/jalapeno is superior, though. I haven't tried their others.
