January 6, 20223 yr East Hampton- ate there a couple weeks ago and it was the saltiest, most inedible sandwich I’ve had in years. The side was a sodium bomb as well. Don’t ever need to go back to this place.

That really sucks but good for the owner as he's cashing out after 40 something years of being at that place. There was also one over by me off Garland Road near Goodfriend but it closed back in the 00s. https://newsnationusa.com/news/usanews/dallas/great-american-hero-lives-on-new-owners-plan-to-expand/
June 28, 20232 yr Not a big shock. That location appears to be cursed. Del Taco, Captain D, Great American Hero. All dead at that spot. https://lakewood.advocatemag.com/great-american-hero-has-closed/

July 9, 20232 yr Grabbed a Cubano sandwich at Latin Deli on Friday. While it was tasty it was NOT a Cuban sandwich.
July 21Jul 21 Was looking for a quick sandwich to pick up on my way into the office the other day. Was heading down Central toward downtown and figured I'd just run in and get an Original "Wreck" at the Potbelly or something from Jersey Mike's at Knox/75. Pulled into the parking lot and saw there is a Bread Zeppelin there. My wife went to ESD with the guys who started that. What the hell, I'll give it a shot. I have to say that was a damn tasty chain sandwich if you ask me. I think there are 5-6 locations in DFW with most on the Dallas side.
November 17Nov 17 While I am still completely obsessed with Bread Zeppelin, I found another "new" sandwich spot in Preston Center doing more "gourmet" NOLA-style po boys. The owners used to have Evan's Meat Market, which was apparently in the same strip center that Sachet is but I was completely unaware of it. At any rate, they sold sandwiches there. They closed the meat market and re-opened just as a sandwich place in Preston Center. It's in the old Yonkers Pizza location. I'd been wanting to give it a shot so stopped in last week to check it out. I don't think this is one of their signature sandies but I went with the Chicken Cracklins and it was damn good. https://thepoboyshop.com/

Different sandwich styles too. I don't think of Jimmy's as NOLA po-boys and the line for service can be a bear at Jimmy's.

I'm downtown mostly when in Dallas, so I understand the geography considerations.

I usually make my Jimmy's runs on the way home from the few days that I actually go into the office downtown but I'm usually stockpiling pizza supplies -- Jimmy's sausage, pepperoni, mozz, dough balls, etc. I've always joked that you go into Target for one thing and wind up with a full shopping cart. Jimmy's is like that food wise.

Was great to talk to them. Gotta bust out of downtown and go try them soon!
