Specifically looking for a good rustic style ciabatta.

Looking for something "airier" and less dense than Whole Foods' version.

Something like this:

Whatcha got?

You tried Texas French Bread or Easy Tiger's?

Austin bakeries kinda suck.  I think Easy Tiger would be my first choice.

If the Easy Tiger location isn't convenient, I believe most Whole Foods around town sell their bread.

Any recs for a Mexican bakery?  Specifically, Tres Leches cake?  Already checked Mi Tradicion, they have two options that could work, looking for others.

So I’m not a Tres Leches connoisseur, but it’s my wife’s favorite cake and she claims HEB is about as good as you’re going to get in Austin (and to your point from 2019, Austin bakeries are indeed underwhelming).

I don’t know why there’s an awesome bakery every couple of blocks in Western Europe but we only have a four or five in a city of 1m.

Habana on South Congress makes a really good one. You can order a whole for $70 if you're not a poor.

Comadre make a really good guava tres leches in different sizes, and it's a special order. They need a week prep time, and they're about to go on vacation for a week.

Need it Friday, so that's a no go.  I'll check out Habana.  I didn't even realize it was still open.
