I'm not watching the Sup...Big Game. The official thread

Featured Replies

I have no interest in the 2 teams.  Gonna catch up on reading and housework.

Who's with me?

Yep. I'm just about to go repair a downed fence, fix a couple of wonky doorknobs, and take the family to the movies.

I'm going to a small Superbowl party but just for the food. I'm making pork belly burnt ends and looking forward to brisket and everything else. Couldn't care less about the actual game though

Going to the mall at 5:30p.  About the one day of the year I can tolerate that place.

Ha that’s my plan too. Figure it will be nice and quiet

I tried to not watch. But at the last minute were invited to neighbors so have to go.  Now surely the pats will win, just to complete the deal.

Make sure to depreciate her assets as a business expense.

As someone who for most of my life ate, drank and slept NFL football, I really don't care much any more. It's not the teams, I actually kind of like the Rams and fairly indifferent about the Pats. It's just the game itself and administration of it has become such a clusterfuck, a comedy of self-inflicted obfuscation, administrative incompetence and contradictory poliicies, often focusing on fixing the things that weren't broke, and breaking the broken things even more.

I will still keep an eye on it, but not intently. I have not and will not watched a single minute of pregame, or post-game bullcorn, I'll channel surf during the shitty commercials that get stupider each year, and will change the channel about two minutes after the game is over, if not sooner.

One of these days I just won't watch it. I'll just go birding or something instead. But I'm not quite there yet. If I could get laid instead of watching the Superbowl I would do that...at least through the coin toss.

If I could get laid instead of... fill in the blank with any activity

I was never an NFL fan. I was a Cowboys fan. Jerry cured me of that, and Roger Goodell finished it off.

Also report a bunch of illegal gains and independent contracting income.

That's me, after catching up on a bit of work I put off this weekend. I typically go to a SB party just for the social/ food element, but had other stuff going on this weekend. SB was what I decided to sacrifice to take sure of what I needed to do at work. Don't feel like I'm missing much.

By taxes, I'm just gonna assume you mean "vaginal lubrication".

I knew the patriots were in but honestly didn’t know who they were playing. I made a run to post office and whataburger. My wife is watching because of maroon 5 garbage. I’ll get home, edit some photos, bathe the kiddo and then go watch True Detective. Pro football is boring.

I've found that the older I get, the less I care about games that don't involve my favorite team. I used to give my dad a hard time when he told me he didn't care about the "big game", whichever sport was on at the time. Now I get it.

Don’t care, ain’t watching.

Made some homemade soup for the wife (no pics) who had to work some today, had some wine together, cranked some tunes, hung out.

Watched Cool Hand Luke while we ate. Sipping a Weller 12 and just enjoying the peace of a mellow evening.

Wow, I thought I was the only one. For the second straight year, we went to a movie and dinner. Saw the Green Book. Went and ate Italian food. NFL sucks in my opinion. Maybe if Jerry Jones weren’t laughing his ass off at taking everyone’s money with things like seat licenses, I might care. But, I don’t. Eff Jerry and eff the “stars” who flaunt their narcissism every year.

I’m regretting my decision to watch the game.  Can I be an honorary participant in this thread?

I grew up with my walls adorned with Tom Landry and Roger Staubach. It hit me in the mid nineties that Jerry Jones embodies everything that is wrong with professional sports and I vowed that I'd root for the Cowboys again once Jerry was in the ground, but now I doubt it. I'll root for whatever team has the most Longhorns, but that's about it.

the NFL sucks.   I wouldn't watch a NE-LA Rams game in week 7, and I DGAF about the super bowl.

GF had the game on for the commercials.   I watched maybe 10 mins total.

A bore, like every NFL game.

I'm going to help my ex with her income taxes.  Thanks how much i don't care about the NFL.

I figured she was straight cash.

Costco was fucking empty, I won a bunch of money in my office squares, and I missed a shitty game. Not bad.

I don't know how yo guys do it...its like the Superbowl of national professional football.

There's marquee events for professional golf, tennis, softball, women's basketball, badminton, squash, handball, spelling bees, and pastry cooking.  You keep yourself just focused on Longhorn athletics, the amount of oral sex in your life basically triples.  Then again, your mom does like her handball.

There was a sporting event recently?
