A guy on the Ticket Reddit board says he recorded the Rant reunion and will post it later. If I see it, I’ll put it here.

There’s now a reddit thread for people to post audio from Ticketstock. Currently only a link to the Timewasters’ show.

They also left Doocy off even though he's been a part time host for a while but did put on Cash Sirois who's basically the same. Wonder what the reasoning is for leaving some off.

Is the ticket going to talk about the 25th ticket stock today? And an aside, if you drove 8 hours and/or flew in to go to that event and have your picture taken with their fucking Marconi’s then you are officially a loser...

I think I heard Junior say someone sold a kidney to fly in from Australia but couldn't get in because of the lines.

Dan and Jake with a nice Aggy dig.

Corby is too fucking stupid to handle air travel and manages to VIP his way out of it.  We live in an unjust universe.

PFT from Barstool’s Pardon my Take podcast (which is a good national sports podcast) word for word ripped off TC when interviewing Gronk last night with questions from 1st graders. Sad.

Cue all of the jokes about "fake news" and the current state of journalism, but the clown in question was actually three-time Marconi Award winning sportscaster Dan McDowell, of 1310 The Ticket in Dallas.

McDowell's unusual, but fitting, getup for Monday night's event actually has an inspiring back-story.

"This was a bet that I had with my Dad," McDowell told NJ Advance Media Monday night at State Farm Arena. "It was one of his last wishes, before he died, he always challenged me to do something crazy out here. He'd see media day, and I promised him that I would. He actually died, and that's why we're messing around this year.

"Every year, we'd be at NFL media day, and my Dad would watch on TV and try to see us in the background."

Heard them talk about that on the Musers this morning. So damn funny. What did Corby do to piss off the NFL flak yesterday?

I almost had to pull over when I heard that. I was laughing so hard I had tears rolling down my face.

The guy's always seemed a little off.  But I guess he knew there would be very little resistance, once he figured out a way to get inside the coffin.

Wondering the same.  He’s been teasing it all night and now he just said they’d talk about it tomorrow.  Surely he didn’t get kicked out of Media Night just for asking some questions about smoking cigarettes?

Sounds like Gordo did something too.  Apparently between Corby and Gordo’s wireless antics and Dan’s clown show, they’ve all been told they need to reign it in or they’ll be kicked out.

Had to have been more to it because big dumb Danny said he almost went to jail and Corby agreed.

Gordo was getting shit from the “monitors” when he was doing wireless. He wasn’t even doing anything besides walking up to people. The NFL shows again how much they suck.

The Super Bowl sounds super gay. /jake

In light of the recent Ticket anniversary plaque exclusions found it interesting this morning when the Gay Jr Miller was bemoaning those left out of the College Football Hall of Fame because they were not 1st team AA or perhaps had some other taint in their past.

Taint...

Clown talk not going away.

Go Hawks! And take the Braves with them.

So now it’s OK for Corby to do wireless segments again? Thought the NFL was shutting that down.

So cringeworthy. Who knew terrible Challenger jokes might cost the Ticket the Super Bowl.

Edited by mdmost

oh god, the challenger joke series...

In case you missed it, here is what Corby said.

"We don't go in with any malicious intent. We go in to make people laugh." -- Corby Davidson, radio station KTCK, 1/30/19.

On Monday afternoon, 1/28/19, Corby heard it was the 33rd anniversary of the explosion of Space Shuttle Challenger, on which 7 astronauts died, including school teacher Christa McAuliffe.

At media night, Corby talked to Adam Butler, a player for the NE Patriots, about the Challenger Disaster. Corby told Butler jokes about Christa McAuliffe. Butler didn't think they were funny. "That's kind of messed up, don't you think?" said Butler after hearing Corby's second McAuliffe joke. After Corby told Butler a third McAuliffe joke, and Butler walked off.

Corby went on to another football player and started asking the player about cigarettes. A security officer in a red shirt walked up and got in Corby's face and said, "You need to leave." The security guy got on his walkie-talkie and said "The media member is being escorted out for asking inappropriate questions." Then Corby was required to meet with the security guy's supervisor.

Security said, "The Patriots personnel came to me and told me they wanted you removed for asking inappropriate questions about the space shuttle disaster." Security told Corby not to leave and that the Atlanta Police Department was on its way. The cops arrived.

Corby complied. "I didn't want to be the guy that launched The Ticket out of the Super Bowl."

Corby explained to the Atlanta police about how they tell space shuttle jokes at The Ticket. The police officer asked what else happened. "What else did you do?" asked the cop. "Nothing," responded Corby. The cop said he had nothing else to say and was "good here." Atlanta cops have more serious issues to attend to than space shuttle jokes.

Corby says he told security he works for KRLD. Security told him not to leave through the normal exit. Corby left through some scary back alley.

Making a tasteless joke in private is one thing. Doing it on-air might just get your credentials yanked.

Meh. My level of give a shit dropped precepitiously as soon as I heard the gist of it.

The wireless with the chick with a tint of blue was better. Find her again.
