JUST IN: In prepared remarks, Acting AG Whitaker says he will “seek to answer the committee’s questions today,” but will not disclose information “that may be subject to executive privilege, such as the contents of deliberations or conversations with the president.”

Edited by Hugo Stiglitz

God damn he looks like a penis with a tie.

Kids reading their history books in 30 years will scratch their heads at the party>country of the Rs. It's amazing to watch.

I once read a book about this president, so Executive Privilege!

This is how it works now, right?

lol jesus

"Chairman, I see your 5 minutes are up."

Fuck this dick head

Collins: Get your popcorn ready because this is going to be a show!

Also Collins: *Lets start the show!* Did you know CNN was there when Roger Stone was arrested by the FBI?

Who TF is Bruce Orr?

One of the rotating boogymen that Fox News focuses on periodically.

I didn’t have an opinion on this guy one way or the other but fuck him and his not answering simple questions. Why can’t you answer if you were briefed. You weren’t asked what was said, just if a briefing happened. And if you can’t answer simple questions, I start to think there is something you’re hiding.

GOP opposes accountability

Well they claim to be the party of personal responsibility so why would they want accountability?  I already took personal responsibility for my actions therefore no one can hold me accountable. Makes perfect sense.

Why have they recessed?

There's a vote on the house floor, so they took a 15 minute recess to vote

Never forget them going to bat for a con man over this.

This was published by house oversight just an hour ago or so, I wonder if they'll ask him about this during the hearing...

Quote

Washington, D.C. – Reps. Jerrold Nadler, Elijah E. Cummings, Frank Pallone Jr., and Adam Schiff, the Chairmen of the Committees on the Judiciary, Oversight and Reform, Energy and Commerce, and Intelligence, sent a letter to Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker seeking full compliance with their prior requestregarding his involvement with World Patent Marketing, after new records indicated he failed to return thousands of dollars that would have been distributed to the victims of the company’s alleged scam.

“On November 14, 2018, as the incoming Chairmen of the four House Committees of jurisdiction, we sent a letter requesting that you produce eight categories of documents relating to your work on behalf of World Patent Marketing and your communications with Scott Cooper, the company’s CEO and founder,” the Chairmen wrote.  “To date, you have failed to respond to that letter or provide a single document that we requested.  Since that time, we have obtained new documents showing that you failed to return thousands of dollars that were supposed to be distributed to the victims of World Patent Marketing’s alleged fraud, despite your involvement with Mr. Cooper in handling complaints from individuals of the company’s actions.”

...

The Chairmen also sent a letter to the Justice Department’s Designated Agency Ethics Officer, Lee Lofthus, requesting documents regarding Acting Attorney General Whitaker’s participation in reversing the position of the Department on online gambling, given unusual campaign donations Mr. Whitaker’s campaign received from casino executives more than three years after his senatorial campaign had concluded.

This f'n guy.  What a great fit for the shit-smeared clown car presidency.

I mean, what do you expect? If I went and found an attorney for a company that manufactures rubber dog shit and whoopee cushions and stuck him in front of a house committee, how do you think that person would do?

They need to ask him if he’s spoken with Kushner about the Mueller probe.

He is such a disrespectful cunt.

How hard is it to say “yes” or “no” ????

Are lawyers instructed to never answer yes or no? It’s annoying.

Just answer the question big dick toilet salesman

Better than Whitaker.

Looks like his chrome dome is starting to sweat.

Whittaker is talking WAY more than he should be lol. He's going to put himself up a fucking creek lol.

Well, they will be reading it in Chinese so it may lose something in translation.

Yes and no are dangerous answers. Litigators advise their witnesses to answer in their own words, and to fight the habit of simple responding with a yes or no.

Wow, Steve Cohen got pretty fired up there. It's nice to see some genuine anger with respect to trump's malfeasance.

And jesus, gohmert is arguing that career officials shouldn't be trusted. Fucking deep state gomer.

Fucking Gohmert uses his five minutes to go on a rant about how if you're in the justice dept. and aren't loyal to the president and his political agenda then you're a political hack.

Hank Johnson is going hard in the paint and not taking any shit. I am enjoying watching this. He's just straight up treating Whittaker like a hostile witness, it's awesome.

Do you think Gohmert is too dumb to realize the hypocrisy in his rant? "DON'T BE POLITICAL, ONLY BE LOYAL TO THE PRESIDENT"

Some of the politicians are absolutely smart enough to realize they are spouting bullshit, but continue for political reasons.

Gohmert is not one of them.  He's the perfect representative for East Texas.

Yes. I believe he's that dumb.

Mike Wallace: Pardon me for saying this, but you seem defensive.

Nathan Thurm: I’m not being defensive! You’re the one who’s being defensive! Why is always the other person who’s being defensive? Have you ever asked yourself that? Why don’t you ask yourself that?

Mike Wallace: [ holds out paper ] This is an affidavit.

Nathan Thurm: I know that!

Mike Wallace: Well, let me finish. This is an affidavit from a woman who has severe nerve damage, on her upper thigh, from sitting on one of your defective whoopie cushions. Here, read it.

Nathan Thurm: You read it!

Mike Wallace: Well, I have read it.

Nathan Thurm: So, why do I have to read it?

Mike Wallace: Well, it does pertain to your company.

Nathan Thurm: I know that! Why wouldn’t I know that? It’s my company, I’m quite aware of that! [ looks at the camera ] Is it me? It’s him, right?
