Loved him in Big Fish.

He was also in an early 80s movie called Looker, which I remember fondly as one of the first movies I saw with boobies.

This may be the greatest scene in cinema history. It's almost a dance.

So goddamn great. MILLERS CROSSING is criminally underrated in the Coen Brothers' catalogue.

Miller's Crossing is one of those movies I keep telling myself I have to see but haven't.  I need to make that happen.

^^^ Brilliant film, with some of the greatest Coen dialogue.

"Take your flunky and dangle."

Sounds like I have an upcoming excuse to watch that and Big Fish with a glass of whisky in a dusty room.

Yes, I think it is their best film, and I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Lebowski, Fargo and others.   But Miller's Crossing invented a whole new language, new words that you've never heard before but that you instinctively knew what they meant.

Trey Wilson (Nathan "Arizona" Huffhines) was actually intended to play Leo O'Bannon, but died suddenly before filming.  I can't envision that one -- Finney may have been a second choice, but he made the character iconic.

Not sure I ever disliked him in a role I saw him in.

Just about sums it up.

“What’s the rumpus?”

Or:

Verna: That's not why you came, either.
Tom: Tell me why I came.
Verna: [seductively] The oldest reason there is.
Tom: There are friendlier places to drink.

And:

Verna: What you doing?
Tom: Walking...
Verna: Don't let on any more than you have to.
Tom: ...in the rain.

An all-time great.  And I think Miller's Crossing was his best role (and it's also my favorite movie... number one with a bullet).

"Close your eyes ladies, I'm coming through....

.... Sister, when I've raised hell, you'll know it."
