February 8, 20196 yr Loved him in Big Fish. He was also in an early 80s movie called Looker, which I remember fondly as one of the first movies I saw with boobies.

February 8, 20196 yr Playing Lear in a movie about playing Lear was his greatest role. RIP Mr. Finney, you were greatness.

February 8, 20196 yr Miller's Crossing is one of those movies I keep telling myself I have to see but haven't. I need to make that happen.
February 8, 20196 yr ^^^ Brilliant film, with some of the greatest Coen dialogue. "Take your flunky and dangle." Sounds like I have an upcoming excuse to watch that and Big Fish with a glass of whisky in a dusty room.

Yes, I think it is their best film, and I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Lebowski, Fargo and others. But Miller's Crossing invented a whole new language, new words that you've never heard before but that you instinctively knew what they meant. Edited February 8, 20196 yr by Horn Under a Bad Sign
February 8, 20196 yr Trey Wilson (Nathan "Arizona" Huffhines) was actually intended to play Leo O'Bannon, but died suddenly before filming. I can't envision that one -- Finney may have been a second choice, but he made the character iconic.

February 11, 20196 yr An all-time great. And I think Miller's Crossing was his best role (and it's also my favorite movie... number one with a bullet). "Close your eyes ladies, I'm coming through.... .... Sister, when I've raised hell, you'll know it."
