February 13, 20196 yr I've probably linked stuff from Please Kill Me before, but I found this interview really compelling- thought it fairly interesting her contrast of the West Coast punk scene with the East Coast with England. Plus cool pics. https://pleasekillme.com/jenny-lens/
February 13, 20196 yr https://www.music-map.com/ - I love finding new artists, only to find they have 4 albums out and I'm an out of touch loser... February 22, 20196 yr Anybody post over on the Steve Hoffman forums? I mainly lurk and post occasionally. I'm a music fanatic, but sometimes that place is a beating, christ, the minutiae some people get into is nuts. It's hard to even keep up with a thread over there, they move so damn fast.
June 29, 20196 yr Author This piece drew me in. One percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration. So many musical landmarks concentrated into spewpoints in time. https://medium.com/micro-chop/stevie-wonder-recorded-200-songs-in-2-5-years-while-making-songs-in-the-key-of-life-3f88873eb1c3
July 1, 20196 yr A podcast called Strong Songs is incredible, especially if you are interested in songwriting or production.
July 1, 20196 yr I loved the old stonerrock.com. I was very active on there for years until its demise. The couple of sites that popped up in its absence just don't feel the same. But there was a ton of music knowledge on that site back in the day. It briefly came back, but looks like it disappeared again. I mean the forum and not the webstore. And when I was still an audio engineer, I really liked tapeop.com. Edited July 1, 20196 yr by Patricio Swayze
September 25, 20205 yr Author These 2 come via PKM and both involve landmark artists in their final year (singular). The Hendrix footage is phenomenal- http://www.openculture.com/2020/09/watch-rare-footage-of-jimi-hendrix-performing-voodoo-child-in-maui.html The second I haven't finished but details the inevitable with exhaustive attention of a writer that cares about its subject. https://pleasekillme.com/beatles-last-days/
