  • With the win we are #5 in the RPI. Solid position to host a Super.

  • Cool story, breaux.

  • Henley was never on track, bullpen has been great, offense put up a 5-spot in the 2nd, Reynolds had a solo bomb, lots of runners left stranded.

Walked a run home. Probably one hit away from this being tied up.

pull McCann for Shaw.

They wanted the lefty vs righty match up. Most coaches would have made that change in that situation.

Those first two were straight butter he has to swing. Then after your down 0-2 be a hitter and at least fight that pitch off.

Yeah that was a wasted at bat by Shaw.

That was one of the worst at bats I’ve ever seen.

That wasn't "one" of the worst at bats ever, that was "the" worst at bats ever..

Purdue was swept by Southern Miss this weekend. Southern Miss is good though (#21 ranked team in the country).

The Purdue 4 game series is really where we need to stack some wins at home. After that we play 4 games on the road @ Stanford, 3 games at home vs LSU and 2 games at home against Arkansas. All those teams are probably top 10 in the country.

Then there are some tricky/tough midweek games with Rice, A&M, SHSU and so on.

One slight criticism.

When trailing by multiple runs, you need base runners. It seemed like there was too much hacking at first pitches .. which really plays in the pitcher’s favor. Work the friggin’ count.

That Shaw ab was a perfect flashback to the last few years under AG.

Shaw is not the guy I want up there in that situation.

I think we might be gathering some evidence that the Augie guys maybe didn't have that much aptitude at the plate in addition to neglect of the skills.  The upperclassmen have as much or more time in the "Pierce system" as the youngsters and generally are worse hitters.
