December 20, 20205 yr KLR, Gill, Pant and Siraj come into the side for the Boxing Day test. Prithvi, Saha, Kohli and Shami out. Shami with confirmed wrist fracture is done for the rest of the tour. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/india-in-australia/india-vs-australia-shubman-gill-kl-rahul-rishabh-pant-get-ready-for-boxing-day-test-wriddhiman-saha-prithvi-shaw-set-to-be-benched/articleshow/79823981.cms
December 23, 20205 yr Sounds like there is thought being given to bringing in Jadeja into the side to replace Vihari. I like this idea if for no other reason he can bowl some overs and try to take a bit of the workload off Bumrah. With Pant and Jadeja at least you have two left-hand bats which was sorely missing in the first test. Problem is both lefties are likely to bat in consecutive order in the lineup so kind of defeats the right/left combo idea - really wish India had a left-handed batsman that could go in the top four (preferably top 3). I guess you could move Pant up to 5th and KLR at 6th. Likely to see something like: Gill Agarwal Pujara Rahane Pant KL Rahul Jadeja Ashwin Yadav Siraj Bumrah No idea if Yadav or Siraj bats 9th, but in the grand scheme it doesn't matter.
December 25, 20204 yr Bumrah looking great so far, gets Burns for a duck. Of course any of us probably has a 50% chance of doing the same.
December 26, 20204 yr 14 minutes ago, APMP said: Pretty damn good morning so far, don't screw it up. Ashwin looking very good as well. Huge to get Smith for a duck and Head looks like a walking wicket. To his credit he’s gutted out 30 balls but feels like he can fall at any time.
December 26, 20204 yr Siraj has settled down and is bowling great now. Picks up his second wicket, AUS in deep shit.
December 26, 20204 yr AUS a/o for 195. Good bowling and much improved fielding over the last test. Loves the way Siraj played.
December 26, 20204 yr Opening batting in both tests for both teams has been complete shit. I don’t count AUS second innings where they were chasing 90.

Hope Mayank's wicket isn't a foreboding for this batting innings. India has it in them to win this test if they quit screwing the pooch. Edited December 26, 20204 yr by UDontKnow
December 26, 20204 yr This is the greatest time of year for cricket fans. NZ / PAK started at 16:00 and the cricket went nonstop until end of SA / SL at 09:30. 17.5 hours straight of test cricket available. I’m going to develop couch sores before these tests are done.
December 27, 20204 yr Perfect day for India yesterday. Rahane and Jadeja are just toying with the vaunted AUS bowling attack. Pant also with a nice little cameo to inject some fire into the innings. Australia fielding has been shit, they look like India did in the first test.
December 28, 20204 yr Author Today should be a glorious day. After 36 no chase will be taken for granted in the next decade, but still, should be glorious. Don't screw it up.
December 28, 20204 yr Umesh is out for today. I want to see some serious hostile fast bowling from Bumrah and Siraj. Don't let the tail wag.
December 29, 20204 yr After Australia's second innings is over, they have a lead of 69 runs (nice). But I am scared. Rahane needs to emphasize to all batsmen that it's Day 4, play to hold one's wicket, no risk taking to avoid run outs, and methodically climb to 70. Hoping to avoid another batting meltdown on what is likely a deteriorating wicket. India should win this.
December 29, 20204 yr Author Or blast away and make them realize 36 was an aberration and we coming for them in Sydney.
December 29, 20204 yr Gill's scored more in just this quick knock than Mayank Agarwal has scored in his last four innings combined. What a disappointing series from Shaw and Agarwal, India needs two different frontline openers ASAP.

December 29, 20204 yr 2 minutes ago, UDontKnow said: Who would your openers be for the final Test match? Hoping it's KL Rahul + Shubman Gill. Maybe throw in Rohit Sharma as well, depending on how confident they are in Pujara.
December 29, 20204 yr We haven’t had lefty / righty opener for either of these first two tests. Hell, we didn’t have a single lefty period for first test.

Is this your playing XI for the next test? KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Hanuma Vihari (as batting all-rounder), Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah (Umesh Yadaw is doubtful for the next Test match due to calf injury) Just now, Fudge Nuggets said: We haven’t had lefty / righty opener for either of these first two tests. December 29, 20204 yr Bigger question is if Umesh can't go for the third test, who do you bring in to replace him? I guess a lot of that decision would be based on where they play the third test as there are questions about Sydney being available due to COVID restrictions. If it is played in Sydney then another full-time spinner to complement Ashwin might be the best move. I'm not sure who is available in the bubble though. Mayank has to go. I'm also about done with Pujara's stupid ass as well. Rohit takes Mayank's spot, bring KLR as the other opener and let Gill go at 3 or have Rohit / Gill open and let KLR take the 3 spot? If Warner comes back for AUS then the last two tests of this series should be amazing.

(all assuming that only the current players in the bubble are available)
December 29, 20204 yr Third test will be played at SCG as planned. Upon further reflection I don’t think Rohit is going to slide into the playing XI for this test because he hasn’t played since the IPL finished. I guess Saini will fill in for Umesh (if he’s ruled out) and KLR could take Mayank’s spot. Other than that, don’t mess with it.
December 30, 20204 yr 19 hours ago, Fudge Nuggets said: What would be the reason for playing Saha? Pant has his spot for now. I didn't realize there were other batsmen available outside the initial Test squad. I figured the ODI and T20 players would have gone home after completing their national team duties.
December 30, 20204 yr I think most of the LOI guys went back, but they kept a few behind in case of injuries.
December 30, 20204 yr Hell of a test match coming down to the wire in NZ right now. If you have VPN, set it to The Netherlands and use this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPx9lXWX8Io
December 30, 20204 yr NZ gets the final wicket on a nice caught and bowled by Mitchell Santner in over 124 out of the scheduled 128. The #10/11 partnership for PAK lasted about 8 overs but couldn't quite get to the finish line.
December 30, 20204 yr 8 hours ago, UDontKnow said: It's always a great day when aggy Pak loses. It's really, really hard to beat NZ on their home turf. Only Australia and SA have managed it in recent times.
January 2, 20214 yr Natarajan will replace Umesh for remainder of Test series....so the current net bowler will get capped across all formats during this tour. Bravo! https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/australia-vs-india-t-natarajan-replaces-umesh-yadav-in-india-s-squad-for-last-two-australia-tests-1245995
January 2, 20214 yr Ganguly, aged 48, suffers MI, is currently stable post-angioplasty https://www.yahoo.com/sports/former-india-captain-ganguly-hospitalised-094431558.html
January 4, 20214 yr 5 Indian players break COVID protocol and dine inside a restaurant (4 are important). Seriously guys? https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/aus-vs-ind-rohit-pant-gill-shaw-saini-placed-in-isolation-post-outing-in-melbourne-1246072
January 5, 20214 yr KL Rahul out for the remainder of the Australia tour due to practice injury. So Mayank Agrawal or Prithvi Shaw? Which one will make us gnash our teeth? I say Mayank. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/aus-vs-ind-2020-21-kl-rahul-ruled-out-of-series-with-wrist-sprain-1246321
January 5, 20214 yr As awful as Mayank has been, Prithvi is 10x worse. There’s no choice other than sticking with Mayank at this point unless Hardik Pandya was available and slot Pujara into an opener role. Even that would be a desperation move so roll with Mayank and figure we’ll lose at least one wicket in the first five overs.
January 6, 20214 yr Or I guess they could put Rohit in Mayank's place and leave everything else the same as the second test?
January 6, 20214 yr Kyle Jamieson is just owning PAK at the moment. This is following absolute shit bowling by PAK during their time with the ball - the 64 extras was really impressive. Three Kiwis reached 100 and Williamson went for 238. Looks like NZ is going to wrap this up today, they lead by 260 and PAK has already lost 6 wickets. Edited January 6, 20214 yr by Fudge Nuggets
January 6, 20214 yr Author Man there must be somebody that can go out there instead of Mayank. Add Rohit and put anybody up there for all I care.
