We're talking about MLB baseball. You probably don't, unless Pablo Sandoval became Bo Jackson overnight and I somehow missed it. Let me know when their outfielders ditch the giant-ass gloves

  • Still all this nonsense about "Dhonis role" in the ODI side. It's called "winner."

115 needed from the last 10 overs.

India scored 116 off the last 10... but Australia doesn't have a set partner for Maxwell. What an over from Bhuvi, just three conceded and two wickets.

What a critical over...only 3 runs conceded, but with 2 wickets. Still the danger man lurks!

WHAT A CATCH!!! The danger man's gone!

If can restrict Australia to less than 10 runs an over, should be fine.

Geez stop fucking looking for the aggressive run out. You can win by restricting runs, but lose by giving away free runs.

Great over from Bumrah...would have been even better if it weren't for stupid fielding.

Australia's taken 47 off of the last five overs. This isn't over by a long shot.

Carey needs to go ASAP. 71 runs from 34 deliveries is very gettable.

Coulter-Nile gone to a nice slower delivery.

Asking rate is close to ~14/over for Australia. Getting close to where Carey may have to decline singles and doubles.

Fast bowlers will bowl out remaining overs.

That should do it! Cummins caught behind. Australia need 53 from the last three overs.

42 off of the last over would require a miracle from the cricket Gods.

And India might win by 5 wickets if Aussies' last wicket falls.

Man of the match goes to Shikhar Dhawan (117 from 109 balls, 16 fours).

I wonder if something will be done about the zing bails. Five times so far in the World Cup, they haven't come off despite direct contact.

We are at an Indian (dot) restaurant last night, and they had some cricket game (match?) on the tv. They kept showing a trophy that presumably went to the winner, so it must have been important, right?. All I could think about was how flawed these guys’ swings and fielding skills were, and that none of them would stand a chance if they tried playing NAIA baseball.

That’s all I got out of it.

Is there such thing as an Indian (feather) restaurant?

I've been in four roti shops in last ten years: Orlando, Trenton, Boston, Queens.  Only the one in Boston (near Northeaster Univ.) didn't have cricket on TV.

Roti Shops are not the same as Indian restaurants. In fact, Roti Shops are a West Indian bastardization of East Indian cuisine.

Great match yesterday for India.  Pandya really brought the energy to another level when he came in to bat - Kohli made a great move bringing him to bat at #4 instead of Rahul.  Despite that awful first over bowling, Pandya settled down nicely.

India won't be able to play that well every match, but when they do they won't be beat.  I guess lack of batting depth isn't an issue when one of your openers goes for a ton each match.

Indian Fry Bread, maze, and pemmican. The menu is short.

Another rainout yesterday and today’s SL vs BGD isn’t looking promising.  What a shitastic place to play a WC with no contingency for makeup dates.

Hairline fractured thumb for Dhawan. Well shit.

Pant flying over to serve as cover.  Also Stoinis is out for Australia, with Mitch Marsh coming in.  Marsh isn’t great, but Stoinis hasn’t exactly been sharp lately either.

Pretty fun match today between AUS and PAK.  AUS gets the win off a brilliant opening partnership and then finally getting some clutch bowling at the end.

Pakistan could have mailed it in after their 5th wicket, but I’ll give props to them for holding on for dear life as long as they did.

I also appreciated them getting All Out before 0:00 local time.

AUS beat SL, but the Lankans made the middle of the match pretty fun.  End of the AUS innings saw a lot of wickets fall in quick succession and the Sri Lankan openers batted very well. Udana had two great run outs on great efforts.

Not sure why, but for whatever reason Mendis came in (Sri Lanka still well in it) he went complete tuk tuk and just sucked all the energy out of their momentum.  They probably wouldn't have won it any way, but his lack of urgency bit them in the ass.  FFS they let Maxwell off the hook for less than 5 RPO.

AUS have not batted well at the end of their lineup the last three matches which is ironic considering the second half of the order is what saved them against Windies.

I guess at this point the rankings would be:

1.  India
2.  England
3.  New Zealand
4.  Australia

I only put England above NZ because NZ haven't played anyone worth a shit yet.  I'm rooting for anyone other than the England World XI side.

Looks like weather will cooperate for at least part of the India / Pakistan match.  Pakistan wins the toss and elect to field.

My understanding is the weather is supposed to get nasty later in the afternoon, so Pakistan has a good chance of chasing a D/L score.  Not thrilled that Shami isn’t getting a chance in this match.  He seems to have the kind of stuff to give Pakistan fits.

Good grief, Kohli walks on a caught behind that never came close to hitting his bat.  WTF was he thinking?

Bhuvi pulls up lame after 4.4 overs so Shankar is brought in to finish the over.  First ball, bowls Imam.  Yep, everyone saw that coming 😂

And then he turned down a sure LBW that would have been dead plumb on review. Nothing's going right for India right now.

Starting to get away from Pakistan now... they've got just 146 runs from their first 31 overs, and need 191 from their last 19.

Lost in all the pablum - Kohli just became the fastest player to reach 11,000 career ODI runs.

Par score after 35 overs is 252, Pakistan at 166/6 is 86 runs behind. Comfortable win for India.

Considering Bhuvneshwar only bowled 2.4 overs this is even more impressive.

Kuldeep and Pandya stepped up big time.

Play will resume in five minutes. Revised target is 302 in 40 overs... meaning Pakistan needs to score 136 runs in 30 deliveries (27.2 runs per over) 😁
