We're talking about MLB baseball. You probably don't, unless Pablo Sandoval became Bo Jackson overnight and I somehow missed it. Let me know when their outfielders ditch the giant-ass gloves

  • Still all this nonsense about "Dhonis role" in the ODI side. It's called "winner."

Maiden over to start. Don't forget you're chasing KL Rahul.

  • Author

This is weak from Rahul. You gotta make use of the fielding restrictions.

Ok there. May as well get out, useless innings.

India really miss Dhawan.

Well required run rate is above 7 now thanks to 2 maiden overs by Woakes. Going to have start playing all deliveries.

England decisively wins 1st 10 overs and India scores the lowest run total for 1st 10 overs in the World Cup.

They may have decided that the chase isn't on, but let's have a relaxing bat out in the middle and put mileage on these bowlers for when we may have to face them later.

That’s some outside the box thinking for sure.

Well if they think the chase is on they're going to have to tonk Rashid for 10 an over.

Rohit and Virat have done well enough to take the partnership to 75 runs and Kohli reaches his half century. It seems like they'll start coming alive now.

There is your 10 runs off of Rashid over.

MSD needs to turn back the clock

Won't happen. An all-around embarrassing performance by India sans Jasprit Bumrah. Hopefully it's out of their system and they thump Bangladesh and Sri Lanka soundly.

No sixes yet, chasing almost 340. Good job good effort.

On a field that has a 54 m boundary.

Losing a single match isn't that big of a deal, but I was really hoping England wouldn't make the semis.  The way NZ has played their last few matches I don't see any way they knock off England.

India started off quite good, but have seen a collapse as they near the 40th over.  Tuk tuk Dhoni in to save the day after Pandya goes for a duck.

Shami and Bumrah are getting smashed all around the field. This wicket is a batter's paradise and India really underperformed in their innings.

And just like that he gets the wicket of Mushfiqur.  Huge wicket but Shakib is still there haunting the Indian side.

Uh-oh. Mortaza with a huge six. Bangladesh need 58 runs from 35 deliveries, it's extremely doable.

edit: and Kumar gets Mortaza next ball!

Bumrah and Kumar are bowling way too loose. Need to settle down and grind out some dot balls.

46 runs needed from 27 deliveries.

Such garbage bowling from Shami, Kumar, and Bumrah. They're getting smacked around for easy boundaries by Bangladesh's 9th and 10th batsmen.

Bangladesh has a very salty group of batsmen.  No shame getting them out for less than 300 on this pitch.

Rest errrbody against Sri Lanka

If that means playing Jadeja, I'm all for it. I expect better from Dinesh Karthik too.

England won the toss, NZ scratched Lockie Ferguson due to hamstring stiffness.  This is going to be a fucking slaughter.

Amazing how flat the pitches have become once England got on the brink of elimination.  I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Batting first on a flat pitch was basically the perfect scenario for England. They're putting the sword to NZ right now, despite the CWC twitter jinxing their batsmen.

Good, so it wasn't just me that was wondering about this abrupt turn of events for England.

Boult got a warning for running on the pitch in his second over and Williamson got a warning for slow over rate.  ICC / ECB trying to gift this to England.

NZ putting pressure on the Poms.  I would like to see them get the Paddy traitor out this over.

Edit:  One over after my request.  He did damage, but gone now.

It will be a difficult chase for NZ, but they did a good job bringing England's total back down after a terrible start.  They can do it, but they need to be on their game for sure.

Terrible decision by NZ to not take a review on the lbw.  It wasn't even close to hitting the wicket.  I could see that live.

Looks like they were a fraud side.  They have completely fallen apart once they started playing good teams.

That should do it. Very unlucky dismissal for Kane Williamson.

That's the one cricket rule I would change. I would make it so that there is no fluke run out in that situation.
