I bought some for Christmas and was floored by how much they cost these days. My wife and I collect them. It can get pretty expensive, but something to keep in mind is that the rarer sets appreciate in value if you keep them complete and in good shape.
May 17, 20196 yr I had an Erector set and some Lincoln Logs. Same for my kids in the 1970s.You had the actual logs that Lincoln had. Don’t lie. My kids love them. My daughter has grown out of it for the most part, but my son still likes them. He went to see the LEGO 2 movie. He said it wasn’t very good though.
August 5, 20196 yr Pikers! My friend Ben just completed a 65,000 brick scale model of the Texas state capitol building. It is going on display at the capitol on August 26th but you can check out the video here:

I'd have to locate a copy of the instructions, and probably some missing pieces. I got this for my 6th birthday ('91). It was a prized possession for awhile. My cousin had a lot of the Robin Hood/medieval themed ones. There were some bad ass castle sets. They did a pretty solid Old West set up in the mid 90's as well. Right before I started losing interest.
August 13, 20196 yr You can download the instructions from the Lego website and use the parts list in the back to order any missing parts.

August 14, 20196 yr I built this lego/craft table for my kids a few years ago. It's made of IKEA trofast cabinets on either end, and 3/4" birch ply on top, with 3/4" pine ply on bottom. It has cutouts on either side so the kids can roll up their chairs on the sides, and it also has casters underneath to roll around the room easily. (I'm also currently selling it if anyone's interested, kids have outgrown it and are moving on)
September 4, 20205 yr So, anybody messed with the new Lego Super Mario sets yet? They look like something that could be pretty cool to mess with if you either have kids of an appropriate age or are single and have time and money to spare.
September 4, 20205 yr Tinkered together this poor man’s A10 the other day while the boy was building. Led to some father son time exposing the eldest to the superiority of the CAS platform affectionately known as “the warthog” and some YouTube viewing of brrrrrrr and stuff exploding. Good time was had by all.
September 4, 20205 yr Nice. Reminds me of the little spaceships I used to build out of ice planet legos so that I could hide them in our Christmas tree growing up.

December 15, 20205 yr I bought the 007 Aston Martin last summer and just now got around to it. Finished it up last night. It was really intricate with an ejector seat, machine guns that rotate out from behind the headlights, and pretty much all the moving gizmos that M put in. Of course as I was moving it this morning James had a small run in with Oddjob, and now his Aston Martin needs to visit the body shop. Edited December 15, 20205 yr by NeverMarryAStripper
December 20, 20205 yr Wife and I started getting into Lego at the start of 'Rona, it's been a lot of fun
June 2, 20214 yr Took the boys to legoland this past week. What an awesome park. The mini town section was a spot I could have spent hours on alone.
May 17May 17 I have been given a couple of kits which are cool, but this was pretty incredible when they were unveiled at Miami a few weeks back. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/how-lego-built-life-size-replicas-of-every-formula-1-car-at-the-miami-gp/10719866/ https://www.espn.com/racing/f1/story/_/id/44983976/how-lego-built-life-size-f1-cars-miami-grand-prix-driver-parade https://www.planetf1.com/features/lego-full-size-formula-1-cars-miami-grand-prix If you want a car with a different bit of styling they also unveiled this last fall: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a62172677/lando-norris-lego-mclaren-p1/

September 9Sep 9 My inlaws bought my son a Mustang for his 16th birthday (they are 1%, I am not) so I figured I'd get him one, too. This is what I will be giving him tomorrow:

September 15Sep 15 I’m like yall. My son loves those cars in real life and the legos. He better get a damn good job or be happy with the legos I buy him. Stupid question, did that BumbleBee transform or did you have to rebuild it?

I have Optimus prime that I got as a gift a few years ago and just bought the shock wave one a few weeks ago when it was released. Haven't built the shock wave one yet as I have to keep it a secret since I bought one as a Christmas gift for my brother.
