I dig Nike's stuff....but I'm a "plain jane" type that likes solid color dri-fit type polo for most game days.

I've had to size down to a Med with Nike..

This thread always cracks me up.

Nike needs to stop using so much black.  It is not a school color, and with few exceptions, it ruins any gear for me, especially when it is heavily featured.

This is the correct take. The thing that separates UT unis from the other schools is our super clean burnt orange and white.  And there isn't a spec of black on it. A beautiful burnt orange shirt with black on it just ruins it. Orange Nike shoes with black on them are ruined.  C'mon this isn't difficult. Two colors. Burnt orange and white.

If you have to use a third color, grey is a much better alternative. Burnt orange and black are awful together, there's not enough contrast.

Agreed on the flat bills, but I'm a reformed prostitute on the structured hats. They just fit so much better. At least they do on my monster noggin.

Jesus christ ill spell it out for yall:

1) Nike always a solid choice. Cant really go wrong most of the time

2) Quit buying off brand burnt orange shit. Look for brands that are based in Texas (Texas Standard, Poncho, etc). Also, buy from brands that use officially licensed shit. Rhoback, Raised by Coyotes, Johnnie O, Burlebo all have the wicking polos that help in the heat, for example

3) For shoes, buy nike. The hey dudes and other shit posted on here is wack as fuck. Slip ons? Lol really?

4) Im going to get flak for this but 47 brand hats are mid AF. Made for the 45-65 demo. Go with hats like what Howler Bros just released, or Nike, 59, hell, even Branded Bills. Huckberry has a script Texas hat right now that looks pretty tight

Branded Bills hats are plasticky and the raised logo looks like a refrigerator magnet. Not my look

Any of those hats with cords look like Vietnam era stuff. Kind of cool if you can pull off the desert artist vibe (or just younger guys who are generally stylish and it fits their look), but silly on regular adults.

47 Brand works for me. Good quality, never in or out of style, just always look right. Fit my head well, too.

Big fan of Rhoback and Johnny O.

Hey Dudes are basically Toms with a lot more money and Sydney Sweeney. They’re very, very popular with the youngs in the Western community. My wife loves them and wears them all the time.

That said, I don’t see any reason to wear Texas sneakers to a game. Wear a deck shoe or a loafer like an adult with a job. Wear boots if it’s cold.

While I like Rhoback and wear their stuff everyday, it’s gotten very popular with the olds. I’ve spotted some very prominent Texas citizens in their 70s wearing it. I’d probably buy a Johnnie O polo from the Co-Op if I needed a new shirt.

Loafers to a football game, maybe the Aggies are right.

This will be my game shirt for the third or fourth season — however long since they released it.

One thing that is even worse than regular flat billed hats are when people wear them with the hologram and/or bar code sticker still on it ... what am I missing?

It's to show they're not a knockoff. Of course, having to keep them on implies that you're the kind of person who might be suspected of wearing a knockoff hat.

There is flat-billed and then there is FLAT billed.  For example, some might consider these Nike Texas baseball hats flat billed:

image.thumb.png.463caf630ccc11f1f9cbdf93168306ca.png

...which they are as compared to a traditional "dad hat" like this:

image.thumb.png.6d6aa2592c256caea64fe94f1a837344.png

...but not to a super FLAT billed hat like this:

image.thumb.png.23e71b48b53927d13fc4041fb5662973.png

you could press that up to a mirror and not bend the brim.

The first and third hats:

The Nike Texas baseball hats are incredibly comfortable compared to New Era fitted hats. The bill will hold a small curve. Also that first hat is not Tennessee, it’s Texas

I’m well aware of that. Still looks like TN shit.

I was wearing my ratty old school Texas cap at the office the other day, and one of our marketing gals asked "are you a Tennessee fan"?

The actual hat, wtf?:

I think Texas fans generally overestimate how much people associate the plain block T with Texas outside of the state. Most people assume a T on an orange and white cap is Tennessee. The Longhorn is the shape that immediately means Texas. (And the acronym "UT" to Vols fans' eternal angst).

Depends if it’s burnt orange or not. How hard can that be? Oh, right.

Our office is less than 8 miles from campus, and most of our staff attended UT.  I think it's a really odd question.  (She's also a Texan, although a UNT grad.)

I bought online the Nike hat with the old angry longhorn logo. When it arrived, I realized the pic was misleading. It was that flat billed bulbous douchebag design. Gross.

What gives--just checked Amazon:

Nike SB Janoski+ Slip Skate Shoes (FN5893-800, Monarch/Monarch/White/Black)

$123.75 + $8.92 S&H

They’re on sale for $60 if you just follow the Nike link posted instead of going to Amazon.

I saw that—just didn’t know why the big discrepancy in price.

Mine is getting retired, it started getting little balls of material all over it.  I’m not sure if it got washed with Velcro before or what happened. it’s also way too big on me now along with most of my gear so I’m currently on the hunt for a new polo or something.

Mine's doing the same thing. Weirdly some of my other pancho's have not started to do that yet. Maybe it's a different material mix.

I've got a mix of Nike polos, that pancho, and a Peter Millar black windbreaker.

I like some of the new stuff from Roback (their hoodies, NOT their shirts), and I like the stuff from Mizzen and Maine quite a bit, but I balk at shelling out $130 bucks for a polo when there are so many other options. Criquet has some team stuff too, and I love Criquet, but as said, I've got plenty of other stuff already. If any of that helps you.

I think I'm good on Texas shirts for this lifetime. If I try to squeeze any more into my closet it might explode like Costanza's wallet.

It's crazy how none of this shit used to exist, not that long ago (for us olds). I can remember wearing plain white t-shirts to games in 1997. I literally didn't own an orange Texas shirt, much less burnt orange shoes, etc.

and we didn't write letters to the editor saying "these are my new gameday shoes, mr. sherrod, what do you think?"

Yup, none of my other pancho’s have done that either. It has to be a different mix or something.

Yep, getting harder and harder to pull the trigger on polos now that $130 or higher is the going price for nice ones.  But I'll probably do it anyway.  Also seems to me that the Coop has a crappier selection this year as compared to previous years.

Yes, I am an old.  Yes, I am a fat.   Yes, I like TB.

What are yalls thoughts on Branded Bills? I like the style, but can’t make up my mind on the rubber looking logo. Also the price is outrageous. But, the material (seen a buddies hat) is great.

I just bought the one from Co-op. On the web site it looks like this:

IMG_8839.thumb.jpeg.c95d805e916a7684321af618a009d45f.jpeg

in reality, the color is…not like this. It is darker and has a lot less orange (and more brown) than this photo suggests. It’s not a bad color, in a vacuum, but it’s not what I’d call “burnt orange.”

I’ve never worn a BB hat before this one. The fit/shape is fine, overall it’s nothing special. I thought about sending it back but that seemed like more effort than I was willing to give. So I’m keeping it but probably wouldn’t recommend it.
