June 12, 20223 yr We tried Amalfi this past weekend. Definitely a seafood focus so the menu is a little unique relative to your typical Italian place. Not the best Italian I’ve ever had but certainly a nice night out. The lemon sponge cake for dessert was a highlight - very good. Their dessert menu in general looked delectable and I’m not normally one to think of dessert as super memorable.Kind of pricey ($185 for three courses and a few drinks each pre tip) but it’s also the first time we’ve been out to a nicer seafood place in a while so maybe that’s just the going rate these days.

They do a nice job at a much better price during Houston Restaurant Week.

We were having trouble deciding what to order and our waiter offered an off menu multi course tasting menu which included the foie gras spaghetti al tartufo nero and waygu filet all of it was amazing. Not really traditional Italian but it was one of the better meals Ive had in awhile. Highly reccomend love that place

December 29, 20231 yr Ended up at this place on a whim. Giacomo’s as closed, jumped on google maps and Bombetta (River Oaks, W Alabama) popped up. I’d passed the place a 100 tomes. Everything was very good. Worth the stop. Thats a split pasta plate https://maps.app.goo.gl/fa8du9JpesoBdVLz7?g_st=ic

February 16, 20241 yr Had a terrific dinner last night at Amore. Chef/owner was at Da Marco for 20 years. $35 corkage. We just went last weekend. Corkage has gone up to $50, but this place is a gem. Everything was fantastic.
February 17, 20241 yr Del Viste is a quieter, less showy option than Carrabba’s on Voss if you’re looking for good Italian food in Tanglewood/Memorial. I haven’t ordered anything on the menu I didn’t like. Lamb lollipops are terrific. I don’t really like salad, but their house salad works. I swing by quite frequently and grab it to go.
February 24, 20241 yr Had a great meal for work at Bludorn on Taft last week. Would recommend. Edit - not Italian, wrong forum. But it was still great. Edited February 24, 20241 yr by Enchubben

October 29, 20241 yr Any places with good Sunday Gravy? Laurenzo’s Prime Rib looks one of the few places in town.

Manager was good - they didn't have two of the entrees we ordered (after ordering), and our salad was never delivered. So he came by and gave us a $50 gift card. When our three entrees did arrive one was not what we ordered, but it ended up being the best entree of all -figures. The Mushroom pasta which was great. Will give it a chance again.
January 18Jan 18 I ate at the bar and everything was good. I actually prefer eating at the bar when it's only two people.
