February 24, 20196 yr "Is the foot touching the bag or pounding the bag?" ... Swindell, my friend, it doesn't matter. He's safe.
February 24, 20196 yr 2 minutes ago, Enfield said: Compared to Kennedy? You have missed too much this weekend. No, I wasn't comparing him to anyone. Basically, what I mean is that his defense is not the area of his game that is suspect.
February 24, 20196 yr Tough first AB. Not sure I’ve ever seen a knee brace that obvious either. Looked odd. Edited February 24, 20196 yr by Enfield
February 24, 20196 yr Anyone know if they are going to open up the RV parking lot for the LSU series? North of the softball stadium?

February 24, 20196 yr DDA is back. Ugh. Was just about to post that. #nottheheroweneed #theherowedeserve?
February 24, 20196 yr 3 Ks for CQ against 4 batters. That'll do. Edited February 24, 20196 yr by Machinator
February 24, 20196 yr We just watched our future Saturday starter get a nice save. Good series win, have to do a better job of adjusting at the plate as the game goes. Guys just took the back door breaking ball for a strike all day
February 24, 20196 yr Good series of baseball for Texas. Young guys get in and made a couple mistakes but they didn’t flinch and it showed we got a good group of young talented dudes. Pitching was great and didn’t let off against a subpar opponent, which is nice to see. Bats can be a little inconsistent but it still it’s the beginning of the season. Can’t wait for LSU.
February 24, 20196 yr Yeah, only disconcerting thing is 6 hits in the last 20 innings against the rectal end of a mediocre pitching staff gassed after long travel and several games of getting beaten around.
February 24, 20196 yr 3-1 was the expectation, so good for meeting expectations. One bad inning away from a sweep, but one good inning away from a split. Now that that’s over with, I guess I’ll g shovel my driveway.
February 24, 20196 yr I know the bats got rest in the last 24 hours, hope the arms do as well as SHSU looks like it can put some runs up against good pitching. Gonna be a great week for Longhorn baseball fans. Pretty good weather forecast, salty mid-week competition between SHSU and UTSA. And a kickass weekend of tailgating/crawfish season and a Top 5 LSU squad coming in to test our grit.

February 24, 20196 yr Three out of four against Purdue is basically par. LSU will be the real litmus test. If we win that series, it's time to get excited.
February 24, 20196 yr True Arch, but do remember that they beat us like a drum last year and yet only one of the two teams made the CWS and it wasn't them. Baseball's a crazy game.
February 24, 20196 yr Purdue’s record right now is not very good but By the end of the year I iimaginr they’ll wind up being a pretty good ballclub. Edited February 24, 20196 yr by jdhorn92

Baseball's a crazy game. I don’t recall the drum beating but for one game. We won one and the other we had a nice 5 inning lead before shutting the bed fielding and leaving shugart in too long.

They seemed pretty solid defensively and most of their pitchers threw strikes. But they didn’t show much pop. I think will lose more than their fair share of low scoring games.

Thankfully that movie holds up wonderfully after several decades, even the reboot (though the sequels were just fucking awful). But the Matthau and the original are so good that to this day, when I hear, "Bad News Bears", my mind should go to Baylor gang rape...but it doesn't.

I am pretty sure he did make some boilermakers in the movie at least a couple of times need to watch again it has been years
February 24, 20196 yr Missed today’s game. Glad to see we bounced back from yesterday and took the series Edited February 24, 20196 yr by EuroHorn
February 24, 20196 yr ULL, Purdue, and Rice are a combined 4-18. This leaves us at #240 in RPI at 6-2. I know now it doesn’t mean much, but need these teams to start fucking winning.

February 24, 20196 yr 51/72 innings pitched so far from Texas have been by underclassmen arms. So about 71%. Really young pitching staff but loaded with talent.
