Went to Harpoon today in Boston after work. It was fun but nothing special. Weather sucked. Any other Boston must hits?

Harpoon is okay but nothing special. Go to Trillium.

Tomorrow I plan on it. Have to go to office for a few hours in the morning then I am free the rest of the day

Brewer’s Table. Every beer was unique and tasty. Green tomatoes and basil in beer? Fucking delicious. The Vor Ort was their version of Lone Star and a perfect patio beer. The pint of Smashed Face was the only hoppy beer. Food was great.

Next to Justine’s in Austin.

Collabs never really meet my unreasonable expectations, but I'm really excited about this one

Launch on draft is this friday at Zilker
Tall boy cans soon. Just in time for FB season.

Oooh didn’t know it was getting canned. Looking forward to trying it

I don’t know if there’s mixed opinions of tupps but this is frivolous IMO......especially this fresh

Picked up some of this tonight while doing a HEB run. First of their beers I've tried. Close to $12.00 a six pack but pretty damn tasty.

Grabbed 2 sixers of Live Oak Berlinerweisse on my way out of Austin back to Dallas.

$12 a sixer is a bold strategy, Cotton.

Maybe $12 is the new $9 ?

That’s becoming pretty common. And $14-$16 4 packs and hazy tallboys.

DFW folks - Be careful buying anything really hoppy in cans from Turning Point.  Pretty much all of the IPAs I have purchased from them take on a gasoline flavor even if you drink them fresh.

So, pretty much like all IPAs, then...

😁

Awful. I tried to write both into an article, but couldn't in good conscience do that to people with functioning taste buds.

What's the story for Lake Austin Ales?   Supposedly saw they were opening nowhere near Lake Austin (Burnet Rd), and they're offering a lot of hazy IPAs.  Trying to give Celis a run for their money with a good trio, maybe?

They are contract brewing at Celis, so probably the same heavy-handed hazy recipes with a new label

Was wondering what took you so long to reply back about the Lake Austin Ales, seems you were busy...

I read that they're adding actual fruit juice to their IPAs so meh.

Shiner is largely a terrible brewery. Really, Premium and Bock are mediocre but get a pass because they've been around so fucking long.

I'm not above a shiner bock, but overall, the brewery should just stick to german-style lagers

well, its basically a dunkel lager not unlike a negra modelo, and not actually a bock, so that seems ok.

I swung by Hi Sign today for the first time and the dude behind the bar confirmed 6 packs of HiC soon, around next week.  Brewery only.  Interestingly we were talking about Trillium and they use the same graphic designer.

Can confirm it's a bitch to get out of there and head west on 71 currently.

Swung by Great Heights again yesterday for the 2nd time, @PhatAtUT and the guys are just doing great work there. Will indeed make it a priority to stop there each time I'm in town even if that means less time at Hay Merchant.

Beer is 25% off at Central Market with no restrictions until 9/4.

I bought 50% more beer...

The red aged in rum barrels by Innes is purdy good. Asked beer steward(?) 2 weeks ago for it after I tried it in Lubbock of all places.  Was great to find it there.

Sell.Me.A.Beer.

For any beer needs in D.C. for the game: we went to ChurchKey last night and they have a ridiculously good selection of beers (IPAs in particular were my goal) plus you can do small pours so I pretty much tore through the best of these.

Game day beer, Hook’em!

Going to the Tulsa game with some buddies. What are some can’t miss Austin taprooms? I’m thinking Austin Beerworks, Pinthouse Pizza, and Live Oak.

Live Oak, Hi Sign, St. Elmo is a great afternoon. Then Pinthouse South for pizza.

If you’re north you can do ABW, Adelberts, 4th Tap or any of the other half dozen up there.

Long day catching up on yard work and household chores. This stuff is real good!
