2019 NFL Offseason Catch All Thread -- Free Agency, Trades, Etc

As a chiefs fan, all of this worries me. Never understood how a second round pick can equal a pro bowl player. I know this cake down to money but losing Ford and Houston for a second round pick might be tough. And yes, it sucks to say that baker will be one of the top quarterbacks to draft next year.

Just watching this on NFL Network, Rapsheet seemed disappointed to not get the scoop, then threw out the thing about Beckham's contract to try to make up for it, other dude that got the scoop had this look in his face like, "you just couldn't stand it, could you?"

Browns feeling good about the chances to land Earl Thomas. Not sitting back at all. Then stack depth by taking best player available through the draft and get used yo hosting prime time games again. It's on in The Land

Since when were the Browns ever a mainstay in prime time?

Fucking scumbag Bennett to the Pats.    I hope / pray Bill has to end up cutting him.  No way I can stomach that garbage in New England.

Rumor is 32.5 guaranteed but not confirmed yet.

Solid business decision to make no money one year to make less money the next year. Must be following the Antoine Walker financial planning principles.

Turn down 70 million...sit out a year and lose 14 million and then you only get 52 mil

Only 13 mil per year...so brown won and bell lost???

He now has $35 Million Guaranteed. He could play 1 play, get injured, and get $35 Million.

So you are correct, that IS a "solid business decision".

GUAR-REN-TEED!!!! (but with only one "R" doing the work of two)

The Steelers reportedly offered Bell a five-year deal that would have paid him around $30 million over the first two years of the contract. With a guaranteed $14.5 million this year on the tag, it’s likely he could beat that initial two-year, $30 million outlay on the first year of a free agent deal in 2019.

You can argue all you want but he got less than he woulda got from steelers first offer...he wanted to reset the rb market and sent out his tweets on gurleys deal and then got only 13 per...

He is in the hole by 14 mil also...we can argue the health reasons and all that endlessly but he refused 14 million guaranteed and did not recoup it imo

One can't help but think the owners didn't collude to make sure no one bid on Bell to ensure no one else pulled the same stunt.  But then you remember the owners are largely morons who couldn't plan a fart

In my opinion he got a year to rest his body and will play at least as many years, if not a bit more than he would have if he had played in 2018.

He will recoup it on the end of his career, when salaries will be even higher.

Because the nfl will change their mind about 30 year old rb's by then???

He could be on year 3 of his 70mil and bitching like brown for more $$$...but now he is 27 and will be a FA again when he is 31...and lost a year of prime earning

The first thing that sounds somewhat reasonable that has come from your fingertips!

I'm not going to worry about him either way. I think that he'll be fine.

It was 33 million guaranteed in the first 2 years and 45 million in the first 3 years.  Now he'll go to a rebuilding team with no threats on the outside and a sophomore 22 year old QB (albeit talented one).  It's being reported, the Jets were basically bidding against himself.  He basically got the same deal as Pitt was offering (maybe a tad worse with inflation and taxes added in).  He gets to wear green again.... there's that.

When there were only 4 channels and they went off the air at midnight.

Fitzmagic to the Dolphins for two years. They're looking like a 2-14, 3-13 type of team for 2019. It's amazing they even won 7 games last season despite having one of the worst offenses and defenses in the league.

Probably going to suck for a few years.

Playing for Trevor Lawrence.  😀

The tanking for Trevor is going to be an intense race to the bottom.

Bengals cut Vontaze Burfict. I suppose with Mixon on the team, even they have only so much room for pieces of shit.
