If you heard it on the radio in the 60's or 70's, there was a pretty decent chance you were hearing his drumming.  A giant.

Just saw this.  Incredible.  

 

he was a pretty good actor as well, I have about 20 minutes of outtakes from "Smile" of clips like this, him and the Beach Boys screwing around, there were going to be radio promos for an album that never was...
