He was not changing speeds.  Then he tried to change speeds and it went 5 feet over the catcher to the backstop.  

 

It it did seem to screw with his head.  Bad visit

Bad approach on the previous 0-2 pitch that was fouled off. 

Swindell is not always right -- Pierce saw a poor 0-2 pitch fouled off that caused him concern that it could have been hit over I35....
