How is Russian / Ukraine no big deal? Like, are they Pro-Russia’s right to invade or we’re not involved.

If Russia invades Ukraine proper and social media/news is full of fighting, Fox News is going to be so torn, because actual war porn is huge for ratings, far more than butter emails and Hunter's lap dances.

No it won’t be an issue in the slightest. The switch will flip over night to Biden is being weak letting innocent ukers dies and allowing the ussr reformation. No subtlety required with the viewership, just a uniform sea change overnight and they’re good to go. Chyrons already written up waiting.

What are you talking about? We've always been at war with Eastasia

I don’t think so. King Don won’t be calling for US troops to fight in Ukraine and will be more likely to support Putin. Nobody on either side of the aisle want us to get involved. Biden is handling this as well as can be expected. He’s done a good job of building a coalition on sanctions among our NATO powers, and sending weapons and troops to the region, which Putin wasn’t expecting. Notice how no one on the right has been critical of how Biden has handled the situation. I think that’s a big part of why Fox News is treating it like it’s no big deal because they don’t have anything to criticize him for. Short of urging him to send US troops to fight in Ukraine, what else is there? Literally no one wants that.

Actually, Fox News has been pushing the Biden is handling this Ukraine deal poorly.  They had some R on yesterday saying we should have done sanctions already and that would have stopped Putin from invading.  Basically, they are trying to frame it so if Putin invades then it was Biden’s fault because he didn’t do the sanctions early enough.

If that’s all they’ve got then I don’t think it’s a big deal. If they’re saying that then of course they’d be saying the opposite if he did impose sanctions prior to the attack. That by doing so he forces Putin to invade because it takes away any leverage Biden might have. I haven’t heard any GOP politicians saying anything critical of Biden’s handling of the situation. There were even a couple of editorials from conservative commentators in the WSJ crediting him for his handling of the situation.

How hard have they been pushing that narrative? Is it an every hour on the hour talking point?

Yeah, not every hour probably.  Saw it a couple of times, but I don't watch much Fox.  Maybe they are floating the trial balloon to see how it goes over.

But that would imply that Russia is bad and Ukraine is good.

He was running his mouth on a Sunday show.   He's bragging about running his mouth on a Sunday show on his website.

I was merely pointing out that Cruz, a prominent Republican (not to mention a cocksucking asshole) was loudly and publicly criticizing the Biden Administration on this issue.

Oh, Fox News Sunday. I guess he’s still doing penance for recognizing Jan. 6 as a domestic terrorist attack. Like a dog.

BTW, I haven't watched that show since Wallace left.  Is it any good?

I do think it's a little strange how we refuse to picture this from their perspective. What if South America had some military might and allied with Russia against us. Russia puts missile silos in every nation. Then they try to get Mexico into the alliance and get silos right at our borders. I want to think the US would move to occupy Mexico and maintain a buffer. Sending our young men to ukraine for open war with Russia and perhaps a world war with China would be fucking awful. Ukraine was not in nato, Russia has legit reason to oppose Ukraine joining nato, we have no obligation to go die there. Fuck this shit, man.

I hear your argument and I see your points but do you not find it strange that Tucker felt the need to go on national TV and defend Putin?  We are talking about a bad guy in Putin and there is no grey area about it.  Putin is pure evil and it shouldn’t really matter if you are a conservative or a liberal, a Democrat or a Republican.  If half the country is going to be brainwashed by Fox News to be on Putin’s side then Putin has already won and the US is finished.  Where is that door to Brisket’s ledge again?

if putin is such a good dude then why should we give trump credit for being so tough on him?

it's not like they were romantic like kim jong-un.

Literally no one has suggested that we should go fight in Ukraine.

From their perspective? If the US was like Russia they would imprison and assassinate opposition party leaders and shut down this site if it was too powerful. They would then have hackers research your IP address and attempt to dox, blackmail, and/or intimidate you. You and your partner would coincidentally get a case of food poisoning. 4 months later, if you persisted you’d get in a really bad traffic accident. Then, disappear.

Agreed but none of that has anything to do with national border security

No authorities/politicians/etc. are saying US troops are going to defend Ukraine, and none are suggesting that.

Okay upon review, this is fair. I made the mistake of watching fox news yesterday at lunch and they were making it sound like Putin would take the looming additional sanctions as an act of war. It appears russia has enough international currency reserves and such a self sufficient economy that only cutting off european energy exports would actually impose pain... And given the economic damage that would cause Europe right now, it's not an option. Good luck Ukraine.

Tip of the cap man, I appreciate you digging into the issue and not just believing what angry TV man said. I never watch fox and nobody I know who watches it recognizes reality these days, so it's a real treat to see fox not work on someone.

So, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, what defensive adjustments can you make in the second day of this invasion to slow down Russia’s offense?  Also, do you have an injury update on Donetsk?

His OC needs to run a trap play to lure Putin by a window on a fifth floor somewhere and then have the fullback lower his shoulder.

I will watch it on occasion just so I know when people around me are parroting the latest talking point.

Their brain dead audience never fails to repeat verbatim what they hear  over and over again.

Yes, are you not aware of the hit broadway musical about her life story, "Noem, Noem."  One girl's erotic pipe-laying journey from Alberta to Albania.
