April 28Apr 28 Longhorns will face Colorado next Monday at 6:15 in Round Rock https://mcla.us/tournaments/championships
April 29Apr 29 What team am I rooting for, Scary Stranger? Always love these: Hebron. Had 13 kids 4 years ago. Won Class D last year. Won our class C district this year.

April 30Apr 30 Apparently, Westlake threw a fit about their seeding and withdrew from hosting championship weekend. This is after Hyde Park (I think) backed out of the super regional for the North and San Antonio this weekend.
April 30Apr 30 That's a legit holy shit, although admittedly not out of the realm of possibility, knowing what I know of their HC (Ethan Burke's father). Granted, I've only watched a dozen or so games over the years he's been here, but dude is a hothead for sure. Not sure why they'd be upset w/ a 4 seed though - that seems pretty fair. To blow up the whole championship weekend over that is pretty fucked up.

April 30Apr 30 Yeah, I don't really understand throwing that kind of fit over the seeding, especially when it's voted on by every HC. The only reason I find it remotely possible is because of who the HC is. edit: As I write that, my buddy calls me back and it's true. Parrish Episcopal and HP will host. Fucking hell. Burke is an idiot for this.
May 1May 1 Plus side is I don’t have to pay for hotels either weekend now. Downside is we will have to play on Smurf turf if we make it to the Semis. Plus side is the last two times we’ve played there, we’ve beaten Parish by 20. Downside is we will be playing somebody more competent.
May 5May 5 Hebron. Had 13 kids 4 years ago. Won Class D last year. Won our class C district this year. 2 down. 2 to go.

May 5May 5 Westlake loses to Jesuit and doesn't have to worry about next weekend. Rumor I heard is that cost the program about $50K in revenue. I'm still just fascinated by the idea that the coach blew it all up over a perfectly rational seeding.
May 6May 6 My nephew is on the Hebron team. I've got 3 kids of my own so I haven't seen them play a game yet but hope they can win it all again this year.Whaaaaaat? Thats a small world.
May 7May 7 Club player* is drafted to the PLL. *grad transfer from Georgetown, so not a true club guy... Same day as draft:
May 8May 8 This is absolutely horrible. The injury is identical to what happened to a teammate of mine in college, aside from the severity. Dropped my boy like a sack of potatoes and I honestly thought we lost him right then and there. God bless that family and team. Quote Witnesses told WKYC that an Olmsted Falls player was attempting a shot on goal when the ball struck Veselic at the base of the back of the head below his helmet. https://www.wsaz.com/2025/05/08/high-school-lacrosse-player-dies-after-injury-during-game/
May 8May 8 Damn, that's awful. Saw earlier about the injury but hadn't seen that he had passed. Wonder if this will force helmet manufacturers to cover more of the back of the neck and minimize tilt. I think lacrosse has been good about making necessary changes to equipment. They now require all chest protectors to be nocsae certified after a player died from a ball hitting his chest.
May 14May 14 Championship updates: THSLL AA - Highland Park...crazy that they have a former D1 and Team USA HC leading them. 2 titles in his 3 years there. A - St. Marks over Austin High. Man, AHS getting to the finals is amazing for them! B - Dallas Jesuit's JV team over Keller, led by one of my best friends from college's kid C - Plano East over George Ranch D - Guyer over Canyon (I am assuming New Braunfels?) MCLA D1 - Liberty over Georgia Tech...the fact that Liberty is winning in lacrosse is wild, given the nature of lacrosse players D2 - St. Thomas over Grand Valley State
May 14May 14 NCAA D1 Elite 8 this weekend: I think we'll get 3 great games after Cornell blows out Richmond. Personally most excited to see the Syracuse vs Princeton matchup.
May 14May 14 The HP/ ESD game was a big game of runs. From 5-0 at half to 5-4 then ending at 8-4.There were really only a few minutes where it got a little close. Same with Austin High/ St Marks. I think it was 1-1 at half, or close to it. Austin High just couldn't seem to hang on to the ball.
May 15May 15 Was bullshit that East was allowed to drop from B to C and then they win C. Supposed to be moving up, not down.

Boom! ESD choked on a dick! Boom! St. Mark's won the 2nd level title! BOOM! Hockaday won their 5th straight state title and the three star seniors finished their careers going undefeated against schools from Texas over their four years on varsity. Bitches be undefeated!
May 18May 18 Hope y'all watched yesterday - couldn't have asked for better games! Tons of lead changes/ties and 1 goal results. Joey Spallina dropping 4G, 4A and then calling out the online trolls in his postgame interview was glorious. Pulling for Georgetown over Maryland today - their offense is hotter than fish grease, but Tillman is the best coach in D1 and his Terps allow the 2nd fewest goals per game.
May 18May 18 PLL is going to be on OTA/cable TV every Saturday this season. Pretty big deal for the league.
May 18May 18 Holy shit - Penn State was down 8-3 at half and 12-6 to Notre Dame in the 3rd and won 14-12. This game was boring as fuck with 20min to play and then went crazy. Edited May 18May 18 by Mittens
May 26May 26 NCAA Boy’s Final on right now. Maryland 5 CORNELL 7 6:50 3rd Qtr UNC women won yesterday, undefeated season… absolutely dripping with hotties. There were three sisters, Chloe, Ashley, & Nicole Humphrey from Darien, CT, on the UNC team. (Don’t know if the oldest sister, Nicole, played in the finals, but got a goal in the semifinal game to go along with Chloe’s 7 goals and Ashley’s team leading assist total. The Humphrey parents raised some awesome stud 🥍 daughters. Edited May 26May 26 by Napoleon
May 26May 26 Stars of the game so far: Maryland: SPANOS Cornell: C.J. Kirst & Ryan Goldstein* *love the name “Ryan (Irish✅… Catholic?) . . . Goldstein” (oh… maybe NOT Irish Catholic) … just cracks me up.
May 26May 26 Boy’s? wtf? Hell of a win for Cornell. Kirst got shutout on Saturday and drops 6G today to tie the single season G record. HC only 31 yrs old!

Had an IG story pop up recently that he is now the Director of Player Development for the top youth club in Utah. It's also run by some PLL guys (Manny, Ghitleman, and Bubba Fairman.
