This team will be lucky to finish top 3 in the conference, not enough horses in the tank and hitting .249 as a team in mid march isn't a recipe for success. The approach save for Kody and Kacy Clemens has also been putrid under Pierce but for some reason refuses to be addressed.

Doesn't have to be pretty. We just have to win. So we swept LSU  Lost to Stanford  Beat Tech  and split with Arky That's 2-1-1 in series against top 15ish teams. Considering o

Last year's early season OOC is essentially the same as this year's.  Last year we went 9-9 and made the CWS.  This year we went 14-7.

Are Eckhardt and Burbank options to finish this one out?

This was the exact same argument made last year after Texas lost 13-4 against Arkansas in the opener.

15 of 17 games against ranked opponents. There are going to be bumps in the road like this.

There’s no clock. You actually have to get all the outs.

Of course the pitching issues have no bearing on the fact that all the regular position players and hitters are in there looking like little leaguers way too often, and nobody out of 35 players knows how to play first base.

Horses in the tank?

Maybe by somebody else, but I don't see Kody Clemens coming out of the corn fields in the outfield. This team just has no depth at all and their is nobody to carry the offense and take pressure off of everybody else. We won't look like this against TCU or on the weekend against anybody because guys like Jack Neely won't see the mound, this team is slowly falling back down to earth now that Austin Todd, Eric Kennedy, Ryan Reynolds, and Duke Ellis are no longer playing out of their minds. This team is looking a lot like the 2017 team. Good-great weekend pitching (Ty Madden is this teams version of Nick Kennedy in terms of ability) with little to no offense.

Not to mention our best player is in a boot. Making a regional would be a good season for this team, just to much to overcome.

Glad their still stealing bases on us- maybe it’ll spur someone to sack up and do something about it.

You are way too reactionary to individual games. Especially midweek games where Texas is throwing their bottom tier arms.

How in the hell are they falling back to earth after just winning a series against Tech? When you play a schedule like this you are going to be punched in the mouth. 15 out 17 games against ranked opponents is just insane and I would say we are already ahead of schedule with a series sweep of LSU and series win over Tech.

If we will not look like this during weekend series then how does your prediction about how we will finish in the conference based on this midweek game make any logical sense?

Damnit Diaz! This wild pitch stuff just keeps happening.

This team is a weekend team only, especially with Manning hurt. They don’t have the arms to do it in the week. The bats are also too inconsistent or non existent to compete for a 4-5 game stretch. But that weekend team (3 games only) has shown that it can put up a fight and edge out wins.

Zubia isn’t a good enough leader when it comes to carrying a lineup, like Cody was. Ellis is trying but god love’em its just not his style. Reynolds...

We royaly got fucked with Dj and Hamilton out of the lineup, so, Texas will have an up hill battle this whole season but fuck who ever says they can’t do it

Those 9 CWS appearances and 0 national titles sure as hell weren't it so I'll buy this explanation

Well nearly half of those are under Van Horn lol. Not his fault Hogs dropped a pop up to clinch a national title last year. Could have been the 2 Cy Young winners in the last 10 years too though.

Arkansas currently has the #1 recruiting class for 2020 by Perfect Game.

Because we have to go on the road to Stillwater, we have notoriously struggled in Lawrence because that place seems to always put us to sleep, TCU on the road this weekend is going to be interesting considering last year the only real difference between the two teams was Kody Clemens. We got a nice series win against a good team in Tech in which we were outscored 9-8. We made just enough plays to win 2 games which is why I said this team reminds me a lot of the 2017 team, you can see the ceiling isn't very high.

Van Horn is a good coach but has 0 national titles in 17 years at Arkansas. Blaming that on one dropped pop up is funny.

Yeah that must have sucked.

I kind of enjoyed that though. Nothing personal.

reynolds ran to be the cutoff.  he thought it was going to LF.  man this is embarrassing to watch.  just one game but we are back to trying to win with pitching and D and while starting weekend pitching is pretty good none of the 3 areas are championship caliber.

Will Catalon even see the field for Arky baseball?

Go squeeze a pig.  You sure as hell know we are not enjoying this crap.

Nice Zubia!

Ok Deadpool. Show me you are no longer slumping.

Runners at 2nd and 3rd.. one out...

Todd needs to score on that.  not very good baserunning.

Down 11 runs, don't risk getting hurt.....

*sigh*

Up to Shaw now.

need an Augie type post game rant to fire this team up.

HUGE double for Zubia. Who says he's not "clutch?"

It doesn't get much bigger than this!

If doubling while down 11-0 is the definition of clutch then I hope he doesn't have anymore clutch hits this season

I think Pierce already did that this year.

I get it but the ball was in the gap the whole way.  neither he nor the 3B coach read it right.  that said, no matter now.

Ayy, at least we are on the board, got 2 runs off Sandy Koufax

Maybe this freshman is the power hitter we need. Two already.
