Dbacks win. Would have been fun to see Roberts try to figure out game 2.

6:05 for 13 innings, fairly excessive.

orioles bettors get paid 3.5 to 1.

Great advertisement for the bullpen game. Yankee hitters rarely faced the same guy twice

Would kinda think Orel’s # would be a little more protected.

Wonder how many times a position player has pitched with a lead in a non-extra inning game? Can’t be many.

Yu Darvish seems like he sucks.

Must have been tipping his pitches.  Yeah, that's it.

The dodgers seemed to have worked on some hitting in the cages during the off season.

Sonny Gray blamed the Yankees coaching staff for his pitching struggles. I guess the Reds contract out their coaching to the Yankees too, because Gray is still sucking.

*Just realized he walked the opposing pitcher on 4 pitches with the bases loaded. Jesus Christ. Reds pull him after just 2.2 innings in his debut with the team.

Can we contract both Det & Tor this season? Jesus fuck, they are embarrassing to offense.

Martin also made a bit of history. In closing out the ninth inning of a team win, he became the first primary position player to do so since left fielder Willie Smith got the final out of a 4-1 Tigers win over the Senators on Sept. 23, 1963 -- though Smith did make 29 total pitching appearances over his career. Hybrid player Brooks Kieschnick accomplished the feat several times for the Brewers between 2003 and ’04, while a handful of position players (John Baker, Chris Davis and Wilson Valdez) closed out long extra-inning wins for their clubs earlier this decade.

Martin is the first full-time position player to work a 1-2-3 ninth in a team win since at least 1925.

A man was severely injured in an altercation at Dodger Stadium on Friday, and the Los Angeles Dodgers said they are cooperating with the police investigation into the incident.

"Last night, an altercation occurred suddenly between two men who were leaving the stadium," the Dodgers said in a statement Saturday. "One of the men was injured as a result of the altercation. A witness immediately reported the incident to stadium personnel, and emergency medical technicians were promptly dispatched to provide medical assistance at the scene. The matter is now being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, and the Dodgers are cooperating fully with the investigation."

The man, identified as Rafael Reyna by his wife, Christel, is in the hospital and on life support after he suffered a fractured skull among other head injuries. Christel Reyna told KABC that she didn't see what started the altercation as they left Friday's Diamondbacks-Dodgers game but that she heard Rafael Reyna arguing with someone and then a loud cracking sound.

"I was hearing the arguing happening and then I heard like a smack, a crack," Christel Reyna told KABC. "It sounded like a baseball bat, and then I heard him start moaning."

Police say the 47-year-old man was punched once by another man and fell to the ground in a parking lot. Police say they are investigating the encounter as an assault and looking for a person in their 20s who drove away in a white SUV. No arrests have been made.

In 2011, San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow suffered brain damage and was permanently disabled when he was assaulted outside Dodger Stadium on Opening Day. The two men who attacked Stow would receive prison sentences of four and eight years, respectively, and be ordered to pay a share of the $18 million judgment against the Dodgers.

The Dodgers increased security outside the stadium following that attack.

Oh and Yelich had the key hit. Thanks to mlb@bat to hear Uecker call it live.

GianKarlo Stanton is definitely not a fan favorite in NY. Judge hit a clutch 2-run single with the bases loaded to pull the Yankees within 1, then Stanton got absolutely dominated by a guy with a career ERA of 13.50 on 3 pitches. Booed off the field.

What in the hell is the O’s manager doing leaving in Givens for 50 pitches after he pitched yesterday?!

I was inside Minute Maid when Astro’s fans booed Beltran for having the audacity to sign with the Yankees after they offered him more money. So get off your high horse.

Wait, so they booed him for signing with another team. Not while he was still on their team. Am I reading that correctly?

What the fuck is wrong with Dodger fans? We may need a Dodger Fans Going Goon 2019 thread. Can they not afford security?

Friday night's game went into extra innings and ended with a loss. Fans who watched the game on television said they saw ugly encounters inside the stadium.

It would be awesome if everyone would stop responding to Helobashit and his dumbassery. If everyone put him on ignore this thread would be infinitely better.

Y'all put him on ignore and you'll regret missing out on his daily updates on Luke Voit's chase for .400.

Fortunately for Helobious, Giancarlo has been DL’d (not IL) with a biceps strain. He’ll have to get mad at someone else for awhile.
