August 3, 20196 yr Gingergaard looking pretty damn filthy for the Dodgers. Looks like he weighs about 150, though. I didn’t realize he was pitching until I saw this post Curious how he looked the first 5 because he did not look good in the 6th I just saw.Nice job mixing speeds but couldn’t locate worth a shit. Padres may have adjusted their approach too. 3 singles to start off the inning, all doing a great job serving the ball where May was throwing it
August 3, 20196 yr There was no fucking reason for Dave Roberts to send him back out for the 6th. That was just idiotic. Major league debut, and you're going to run him up to 100 pitches and third time through the order? That's some Grady Little level shit. Edited August 3, 20196 yr by Beau Vine
August 3, 20196 yr This is the same Dave Roberts who batted Tyler big Fudge in the 1 hole tonight. Lol
August 3, 20196 yr Not sure the last time a pitcher had an assist from left field, but Vince Velasquez just threw a seed to nail Jose Abreu at the plate with what was possibly the winning run in the top of the 14th. That set up a match up of OF Roman Quinn PITCHING to relief pitcher Carson Fulmer with two on, two out. Fulmer ripped one to 3rd but a nice play ends the inning. Edited August 3, 20196 yr by Bartles

August 3, 20196 yr Holy fuck Vince damn near did the same thing in the 15th - perfect throw but just a fraction late. Had to be reviewed but he was safe
August 3, 20196 yr And then Vince ends the inning with a diving catch in LF. This is ridiculous...unfortunately for us Phils fans our offense is ass and the ChiSox still have a ML pitcher in the game so this is probably over
August 3, 20196 yr That was amazing. Pretty sure if they can get Velasquez to the plate this inning, he'll hit a game-winning homer. Edited August 3, 20196 yr by Beau Vine
August 3, 20196 yr ChiSox win after 1-2-3 bottom of the 15th. Kapler always seems to manage us into shorthanded, walk the tightrope situations. A lot of that was Hector Neris serving his suspension for taunting the best team in the NL, but still bad managing
August 3, 20196 yr Every team has an MLB assigned “natural rival” in the opposite league. Those two teams play two 2-game series every year. The Friday off day thing happens when one of those two series unavoidably falls on a weekend. It also happens in the games played in Mexico, but that’s on purpose as MLB has both teams participate in entertainment events the Friday before the weekend series.
August 3, 20196 yr Tyler White went 0-4 today as the leadoff man in the Dodgers loss to the Padres Edit: actually meant to post that in the Astros thread whoops. Edited August 3, 20196 yr by perfectchaos007

This isn't one of those "natural rival" things. The Cardinals-A's is not an assigned natural rivalry.

But the optimal amount of risk is somewhere between "never" and "Kapler," so I don't disagree with you.

The Cardinals should be the Astros natural rival, not the Rockies.

This to both of these. The cards were THE Astros rival when I was younger. Now we have this forced inner division rival that makes it impossible to root for both teams like I did in the 90s and 2000s. There’s the obvious Dallas v Houston rivalry, but I’ve never really been apart of that living in Austin and SA. Edited August 3, 20196 yr by youdunnf'dup

But calling the Rockies a natural rival is entirely pointless. The Rockies may very well be the team I am most indifferent to in all of baseball. Brewers could have been an interesting rival too since they should be in the AL instead of Houston. They play Minnesota who they don't care about either. Rangers should have played the Nats and left the Philly-Baltimore rivalry alone also.
August 3, 20196 yr I have never heard anyone use the phrase "in this day and age" more than John Smoltz. And every time he uses it, it's either preceded or followed by something stupid.
August 3, 20196 yr And he had gotten 3 hits today too. Hate that he's done due to an injury. I wonder if I'll end up regretting wishing they'd bench him so much.
August 4, 20196 yr Lol that is some 12 and under little league shit right there. I’ve seen it happen so many times, but never flush like that at any level higher than 12 and under.
August 4, 20196 yr It would be very Astros if Aaron Sanchez completes this no hitter in his fucking debut lol.
August 4, 20196 yr It would be very Astros if Aaron Sanchez completes this no hitter in his fucking debut lol. He won’t come back for the 7th. He done. But sweet debut. Fuck Canada and Drake.

August 4, 20196 yr Back to Velasquez for a second... I missed that last night...First pitcher with an outfield assist since 1950
August 4, 20196 yr Author Nellie Cruz is .295/30/72/3.3 bWAR right now. That is fucking insane. Edited August 4, 20196 yr by spystud13

August 4, 20196 yr Man, wtf has happened to Milwaukee? Losers of 4 straight in a division that’s still ripe for the taking, -29 run differential, but still only 2.5 out of the wildcard. They just...aren’t any good. I thought they would challenge LAD in the NL right up there with Chicago, but clearly I was wrong

Also check out Kato Kaelin’s Twitter anytime the Brewers are losing. Fun stuff.
August 5, 20196 yr I feel like max Muncy is one of the most underrated hitters in the league. Or maybe he is properly rated and I never gave him the credit he deserves. He’s been killing it for a few years now, and with his versatility, it’s impressive.
August 5, 20196 yr David Price just got his ass absolutely handed to him by the Yankees, 7 runs in less than 3 innings. His Yankee Stadium ERA as a Red Sock is 9.71 (9 games). If NY hangs on it’ll put Boston 14.5 games out of 1st. That’s just too bad.
