  • I'm going to take a guess and say you're under 40. The whole soul of the film is picking through the nostalgia. The billboards, the radio commercials, the tv shows. It's a gotdam masterpiece.

Pretty random? The whole movie you experience a sense of dread, especially watching the fetching Margot Robbie portray the vibrant Sharon Tate. You see this magnificent human go to the movie theater t

Definitely the biggest change from the movie to book is Cliff

Was it supposed to be ambiguous in the movie that he definitely killed his wife?

Another difference is that Angie McDowells daughter was fingering herself in pitts car on the drive out to Spahn ranch.

There were a couple descriptions of womens bare feet in there and I thought that was funny. I guess he was typing one handed.

Just finishing up on FX…  GD I love the scene with Cliff bashing that chick’s face against the fireplace mantle.

That’s when the fact that this was a Quinton Tarantino film became the most apparent.

I know. I was trying to be clever and paraphrase a quote from the movie.

No way he’d still be married to that Francesca! Learn to tell a story Quentin!!

I don't care if she had a Canadian head like on South Park, still would.

Even for QT, that’s some weird shit.

He does a weekly podcast with Roger Avary called Video Archives where they talk about different movies they had at that video store they both worked at.  In the latest episode, they are discussing the filmography of Rick Dalton like they were all real movies that they had seen and have various trivia tidbits and stories about each.  THAT is some dedication to your bit.

I didn’t remember this from my own childhood when I first watched pulp fiction at 14 when it came out, but my kids watch old looney tunes now, and this was taken from one called “three little bops.“

Enjoyable little discovery.

One of the most memorable of the Looney Tunes animated shorts.

Maybe not fisting, but I'm willing to bet Tarantino would take a whole foot of one of his actresses up his ass.

Pussycat was played by Margaret Qualley.

She’s been in “Fosse/Verdon” and “The Leftovers”.

She’s also Andie McDowell’s daughter.

Hope we get a Brandy origin story.  And the Cliff kicks Bruce Lee's ass again.

Lee’s estate would cry again.

Cliff was great.

Ladies… then proceeds to kick a hippies ass in front of them for knifing a car tire.

If you’re a big fan of the movie, the novelization that Tarantino put out is great. Has several parts that were not in the movie and is all centered around Cliff. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see some of those parts depicted or at least referenced.

That whole scene where he's at the Spahn ranch is amazing. Right up there with the bar scene in Inglorious Basterds.

More info about this. It's not a direct sequel. It time jumps to 1977 and is more "the further adventures of Cliff Booth".
