Guys. Let’s concentrate on the trophy that matters.

Let Trout pile up those others.

I understand the sentiment. But Bregs is the best in the AL with an injured Trout. Give the man his hardware.

Cole just passed Scottie.  Damn he was good in 86.

That got me thinking. If this team plays the 86 team in a 7 game series, does the 86 team even win a game?  Same with the 2005 squad.  Those teams had some glaring weaknesses, and so did the WS winners those years. It's crazy how good this team is, and with how good the other playoff teams have been over the last few years, there are still no guarantees. The 2019 Yankees and Dodgers look like they could walk through an 86 WS win as well.

Plus the last two AL MVPs also got the trophy that matters.

AL wild card team is going to be a mother fucker
It's possible that 4 AL playoff teams have 100 wins.

I would rather play the Rays than either the Athletics or the Indians but whatever. If you are gonna win the world series you have to beat all comers no matter what. I'd much rather have HFA than worry about matchups.

Agreed with “it don’t make a shit.”

That said

Indians, A’s, Rays in that order for me

Don’t really want the Rays.

We’ll beat em but it’ll take 4 or 5 and fuck up the LCS rotation (don’t forgot about our little house of horrors down in Tampa)

A’s would take 3 or 4 games

Indians we’d sweep. Swept them in 2018. we’re better than we were in 2018 and they’re worse

This CY race is going down to the wire

Poor Angels

Urquidy pitching for a 4th spot in the playoffs.
JV/Cole pitching for a Cy Young
A bunch of relievers pitching for a spot on the postseason roster.

No Trout/Ohtani/Upton...

I don't really care who we play.  Just get the 1 seed.  Look at our home record.

And Minny will take at least one game from NYY.  So if our series goes 4 or 5, it just means we missed some extra rest.

I was listening to Jon Miller do the Giants game tonight.  He mentioned that the Giants have 3 players with 20 home runs this year.

I started laughing.  The Astros have 7.

Is co-cy young possible? If so, this is the year to award it.

Yes
They *should be 1 and 2 on every ballot.
I’m sure some fuckstick will vote some other clown in one of those spots but assuming not and assuming half out JV at 1 and Cole at 2 and half do vice verse, sure.

What’s crazy is I think this is their first year with even one guy with 20 since 2015 or something absurd like that

Edit: yep. Crawford with 21 in 2015. Last time before this year the Giants had a guy get to 20 in a single season

A buddy asked my % cole is back next year.
I said less than 25%

I think it gets lower and lower for every K he puts up
We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow....

Give whatever money you thought about giving Correa to Cole. Houston cannot allow him to pitch for another team next season.

I'm all for making a respectable run to re-sign Cole, but getting Springer extended is priority #1 for the future of this team.

If Cole has another start like this I think he is going to win the Cy Young

Well, JV has one more, too.  I'm sure he'll be motivated not to finish second again.
