Nice throw by Brantley but he looked safe.  We're due some breaks on the replay at Fenway though.

Huge break considering the proceeding HR. Astros gonna have to keep putting up runs to back the young kid.

a few min late on this reply, but man does joe buck want this to be a close game.

i know what six minus three is.  i don't need to hear it's a "3-run game" fifteen times.

corbin will be fine, but he definitely didn't have it tonight.  probably was lucky to get out of some of his jams, although there was certainly some bad luck mixed in - 285 foot homer, weird foul ball/passed ball in the 1st.

let's get out of this mess with a small cushion and keep hitting.  we needed something out of spring and bregs.  that was terrible.

Got some help there.  Strike 1 and 2 to Bogaerts were off the corner.  Strike 3 was a great pitch right on the corner though.  I don't know why he took it after the earlier ones were called.

guts.

Way to close out the inning.

Wasn't scared to throw some meaty pitches...but had the heat on them.

Whatever was causing James's velocity be off a couple of ticks at the beginning of the year seems to have been fixed.  The last 3 fastballs to Devers were 98.8, 99.7, and 99.5.

James is dealing.

Fun to watch...

it's especially frustrating to see this dude struggling to keep his shit over .150 considering how he turned into ted fucking williams during last year's alcs.

Jackie Bradley Jr. signed a 1 year / $8,550,000 contract with the Boston Red Sox, including $8,550,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $8,550,000. In 2019, Bradley Jr. will earn a base salary of $8,550,000, while carrying a total salary of $8,550,000.
