Yordan Alavrez is on pace to be the greatest Astro ever. And we got him for Josh Fields. All praise to thee Lord Luhnow.

Does anyone have a screen cap of the post game showing that Yordan’s first 45 games are comparable to Joe DiMaggio and some other all time greats

At the pace he is on, those comparisons may be reversed.

Aaron Sanchez is now 5-14!

The 9th inning pushed us past LA in run differential... at least for now.
3 up based on completed games.
But LA currently leading by 4 in their game

Today was Yordan’s 45th game.
The Astros has 45 games remaining this year.

Yes, Yordan is on pace for 102 RBIs despite only being on the squad for what will be barely over half the season.

Hack Wilson better watch out next year

Anyone know when Strom is due back on the bench?

He's not happy they gave up multiple runs to the Orioles twice in a row.

Went to a 6:00 showing of Once upon a time... so er something good happened for the Astros yeah?

Don’ denigrate the #Legend with that nonsense. Those fucks were roid/cork phonies.

I expected that might get this reaction, but regardless of what you think of those guys (and I share those feelings to a degree), they were crazy impressive sluggers in their primes. Sosa was juicing no doy but goddamn could he make a baseball travel a long way. Every ball Yordan barrels up is reminiscent to me of Sosa, and I mean that in the majestic sense and not the knee-jerk PED reactionary politics of  baseball history.

Yordan has the power of Sosa with the plate discipline of Pujols. He is quite possibly on track to be the Greatest Astros Slugger ever and could win multiple MVPs imo,

Luhnow should make more trades with the Dodgers.

Jesus fuck, sign him to a 15 year extension.

The Twins go back up a game on Cleveland

Dodgers win 4-0.  We're tied with them for the best record with the Yankees a game back.  Dodgers lead in run differential 186 to 185.

Hold on...
What’s this?

Yes, I can confirm we’re still leading in # of rings this century.

Been traveling today, finally checking in.

I don’t even know what to say about this team. Fucking lethal.

I agree with everything in this post with the exception of comparing Sosa’s power to Yordan’s. Even with roids or cork, no.

Yordan could use Sammy for a bat.

To be honest, I find it hard to believe you brought that douche up after what is known about him. He should be wiped off the records.

Interesting, but how many of these guys were barely 2 months into their big league career?

Toy Cannon's 3 homer game was at the Dome, so he must have knocked the crap out of all 3 of them (like Alvarez)

Also Altuve had that 3 homer game in Game 1 of the 2017 ALDS.

Thank you! That’s amazing

Peacock’s line last night for RR indicates he’s either not ready or had a setback. 0.1 IP, 1 H, 1 SO, 1 BB, pitches 16-8

Luhnow will have an update at 11:40 on the pregame show

I couldn't watch or listen to the game, so I only have the box score to review....but how do you only have 2 subs with a final score of 23-2?

Don't they only have a 3 man bench right now? If so that would just mean Chirinos didn't come in.

If I were a player, no way I would want to be subbed for.

Maybe they should have let Greinke DH, though.  Kept it in the mid teens.

Not to overly temper the euphoria, but Round Rock ... maybe even Corpus ... has better talent than the O’s.  Take away Mancini and Villar and they got nuthin’ ...

Can you imagine if we played the Orioles as much as the yankees? Hell even the blue jays.

Today will be a squeaker because baseball gonna baseball

Makes sense, I thought it was a bigger roster.

We have about .999 winning percentage in the AL east

I think we are percentage points ahead of them, as they have 2 more games.

yes, I was listening to Bowden on Sirius earlier this week, and he was talking about how the Astros were going to have the best record because the Yankees have a better division. I was thinking what the fuck, the Yankees get to play to of the 4 worst teams in baseball 36 times. While the Astros get to play the Mariners 18 times, but everyone else in their division was close to or above .500

I was listening to Front Office on XM MLB Network this morning on my way to work and either Bowden or Duquette said that this Astros team might be the greatest team he's ever seen and possibly could finish this season as the greatest team of all time. I can't say I'd call that hyperbole. That's truth.

This team is unfuckingbelievable.
