Just turned the game on. Is Urquidy the answer to our Miley problem?

Yes.  At least he throws strikes.

Good win. AL home field secured.

I started thinking about it after Harris struck out Cowart on three pitches.   I pointed it out to my wife when he got Thaiss on three pitches and explained to her what an immaculate inning was.

She asked me not to overreact and embarrass her if he got it.  I jumped out of my seat and gave a big yell when it happened.  Apparently, that was too much, and she was mortified.  Angel fans didn’t seem to mind.

Great night at the ballpark.

Consider it practice for convincing your wife that something that lasts for such a short time is actually great.

I dozed off in the 8th. Only missed the GW 3 run homer and an immaculate inning. Wow.

In your defense, Brantley’s HR was only insurance.  But yeah, missing an immaculate inning like that is rough.

I woke up in the ninth and saw 4-0. I rewound to watch the homer but had no idea about the immaculate inning. Not the same to watch it on the At Bat app.

How much do we pack it in this weekend? Rest for all the starters?

Win tonight and then do whatever the rest of season.  I don’t think they will waste a JV start tonight.

Magic # is 1 for best record in MLB now correct?

Yes beat the Angels tonight and best record in baseball belongs to the Houston Astros for the first time in franchise history.

Now that we know we’ll be facing the winner of the WC game, who do we prefer and why? It seems like TB always plays us tough but Oakland is hot. They are 34-16 the last 2 months. It probably doesn’t make a shit so I’ll go with Oakland simply because it might increase the likelihood of some primetime games.

#26636

Last year I was hoping we would get BOS in the ALCS and that didn’t work out so good. This year I take whoever. Someone has to win 11 games, might as well be us.

It doesn’t take that long if you hit the spot nine times in a row.  I’d rather be a Maddux than an Ankiel.

#26638

Im taking the Astros not to beat the Astros in 5 games versus whoever trying to beat the Astros in a regular series

#26639

Dodger game is probably over by the time we start. If the Giants win do we scratch JV and start resting everyone?

JV isn’t going to go 12 days between starts.

I speculated a couple of months he would get 3,000 against the Angels...in March 2020 the night we raise another banner....but looking like it’ll happen tonight.
Who knows. Maybe he only has 5 Ks after 5 IP and they pull him then if he’s in line for the win
#26644

All good reasons why Verlander should start tonight. It looks to be a moot point because the Giants just suck. They may not score another run the rest of the season.

I was at the Ankiel meltdown playoff game, laughing at him wayyy out in left field.

A little light in the oomf department without Tucker and Brantley but should still suffice. We need to win tonight cause the Dodgers won again.

Verlander is not going to pitch again till 10/4 so this way he will get 5 days rest and be close to the normal 4 same with Cole tomorrow. Greinke is the one who will get the longest layoff.
