Springer just said his limp was just a cramp.

There's some good damn news!

Yeah, he jumped really high on Correa's homer

That wasn't really a bat flip though.

Looks like Reddick caught Correa's helmet toss at home plate.  So Josh hits the next home run?

Oh, yeah.  I said a while ago that I wonder if they'll brush him back for that.  Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Astros back on schedule.   Win with Cole on Tuesday and swipe the Urquidy or Greinke start.   Close it out at home.   What a confidence builder for Astros and killer for the Yankees.

bregman laughing watching the replay of how ridiculous that HR was

i hope they do, it'll light a fire under this team

It was a walk off in the postseason.  Can’t gripe about a celebration it that situation.

We made him work

He threw 25 pitches

He would have been in trouble if he came out for a second inning

He’s going to get worked later in this series, like a lot of their guys. We’ve gotten a ton of looks off their best already

24 pitches in an inning.  That’s a lot for him.  He is a dragster.  Goes hard for short distances.

Oh, I agree.  Emotional game.  And there's too much on the line to go settling scores, they can't risk Severino getting tossed, etc.

But I bet Carlos will wear one early next season like Joey Bats from the Rangers after his bat flip.

hurt security guy - cole stayed by his side all the way to the ambulance. very stand up of him

was actually a paramedic, not a security guy

At least it wasn’t Frank Thomas and his Nugenix.

THIS. I'm an old grumpy traditionalist who gets easily chafed by the new school showmanship, but exactly zero persons should have any issue with Correa's celebration. Context is everything.

your mom told me last night she's done with you

lol

Correa deserved that after the ball he smoked in the 6th.

Stupid dead ball.

Guessing the warning track outs have been pretty even on both sides though

huge lulz @ verlander's mom had big papi's picture on her fridge for years lulz

He smoked one against TB on Thursday that died as well.  He was owed one.

Statcast had the xBA on that one at .900.

Best of 5 now with Cole in G3 in their house and if it comes to it Verlander and Cole in 6 and 7 in ours.  This game was crucial.

If I got to make the lineup the rest of the way:

Springer

Altuve

Bregman

Correa

Brantley

Yuli

Yordan

Tucker/Marisnick (vs RHP/LHP)

Chirinos

It was do or die tonight.  Hope we get something going on offense.  Both teams are going to start hitting these relief pitcher's.

It was a must win.  It became really important when we lost Game 4 at TB.  It became a must win when we lost last night.

Lose this game and you have to win 4 of 5 with an Urquidy and Greinke start mixed in.  Not impossible but a lot less probable.

hinch with a hell of a job managing the BP tonight

Yep.  I didn’t like the Harris hook or five outs from Osuna, but it worked.  He still had a lot of dry powder in the 11th and the Yankees were empty.

And Joe Smith was pretty freaking nails, too.  We got him specifically because of his history as a Yankee killer and he didn’t disappoint.

Can still feel the stadium shaking on the way home. Love high fiving strangers!!

That one literally gave me chills.

Boone definitely Roberts’ed it pulling Paxton so quickly.   I’m still in shock about that.

The more I think about it, the more this game reminds me of WS G2.

Total series changer.

Game 3 is another must win with Cole.  Don't want to rely on Urquidy or Greinke to bring it back to MMP.

Good thing Cole is good.

Hope this sparks everyone and carries over. At least we have seen most of their bullpen now.

same. seeing their rp over and over definitely helped, and constantly pulling sp early eventually worked against them.

they also had 2-3 lockdown guys like nyy, and you bring them in early it can force 2nd tier guys in crucial spots.

A game 4 rainout would be interesting.  We could skip Urquidy.

It would also mean the MFY skip their bullpen game and get to trot Tanaka out there in game 4 on full rest...

It would also move Verlander up into starting game 5 in the Bronx.  It does bring up some interesting scenarios but only if we win Tuesday.
