August 7, 20196 yr If they like Kiner Falafal bat so much, why aren't they playing him at catcher and Forsythe at 3b. Mathis, hitting .150 just doubled out KF. Sixth inning, Cle up 1-0
August 7, 20196 yr In game 1, the Outfield went 0-12. Willie didn't play. In Game 2, he has one of their three hits. Not sure Odor even got the ball out of the infield in game 1. He's 0-2 thru 6 in game 2 Edited August 7, 20196 yr by Irish Wrist Watch
August 7, 20196 yr Calhoun goes deep in eighth, but we're still one behind because of pass ball in bot seventh.
August 8, 20196 yr 3 hours ago, Knoxtnhorn said: Odor 0-7 with 4 strikeouts thus far today. But he hit a couple of homers in July. Can't risk him missing any at bats by, say, putting him on the fucking bench for a couple of games. It might hurt his feelings... or shake his already floundering confidence.
August 8, 20196 yr Double-gut punch days like this make it hard on people who keep trying to watch and hope to see some progress.
August 8, 20196 yr If you're going to put Gallo in the lineup, you need to put Odor on the bench. And we can't have a catcher hitting .150 on most days. KF should be catching. His D at third has been no better than Forsythe's. So put Forsythe at third. He's not Beltre, but right now he's the best we have - and he might get better with more playing time. Why the fuck play KF at third when you have Solak ready to join the varsity? If Woodward is so hot on KF playing, on days when someone else catches, let KF DH. Besides, KF is a .230 hitter (.250 career). Mazara batting fourth isn't cutting it. Strikes out too much. I guess the bottom line is that Woodward has been handed a pretty shitty team. August 9, 20196 yr I just hate to see guys like Pence get thrown under the bus. He was a warrior this year, gave it all on the field and was a big reason for the Rangers being competitive and fun to watch. He finally got his chance to play for his hometown team and delivered like nobody expected, beyond any expectations. Now he's going to rot on the bench half the time and watch his contract expire. He deserves much better.

August 10, 20196 yr Kelley gets two immediate outs, then proceeds to load the bases. Can't buy a strike until the count is 3-0 with bases loaded. Has to throw slow pitches down the middle to a lefty, who singles in two. Meanwhile, we have a lefty warmed up in the bullpen. Nice coaching Woodward. Woodward is looking like a deer in the headlights.
August 10, 20196 yr I was at the game last night. Allard looked pretty good, was 91-93 most the game. Pence's HR was crushed. Kelley sucked. And holy shit I knew it was a lot, but had to check the box score when we got back to the hotel to see that the game had 18 walks combined.
August 10, 20196 yr Burke looked good in NAS two nights ago and Palumbo looked good last night too. I'd expect to see them up in a few weeks. Give them Allard and Jurado all the starts you can. I'd run Trevino into the ground catching..
August 11, 20196 yr So is the shit hitting. Nevertheless, runners on first and second, no outs. K Falafal shoulda bunted. Would have scored on the high bouncer. KF two ground outs so far.
August 11, 20196 yr Fucking Odor swings at a high 3-2 pitch that woulda loaded the bases with one out (with a pitcher that just walked two hitters with 8 straight balls). Instead, they throw out our guy attempting a steal. Just like that, inning over. Edited August 11, 20196 yr by Irish Wrist Watch
August 11, 20196 yr Wow, a clean 9th inning to save a 1-0 game for LeClerc. God bless him. I hope this is the start of a big turnaround for him.
August 11, 20196 yr I was worried when he started wasting pitches and got a full count after starting 0-2 on that last out.
August 13, 20196 yr Just checked the score since I saw action in this thread. Jfc. And against the asshole cunt bluejays to top it off. Why did we not sell at the deadline, again?

August 13, 20196 yr Every Rangers pitcher gave up at least two runs, except Montero. Five different pitchers giving up two runs or more, even though one of them was c Jeff Mathis...crazy.
August 14, 20196 yr Rangers really making this Jays pitcher sweat. 11 pitches to get through 3 innings.
August 14, 20196 yr Rangers really making this Jays pitcher sweat. 11 pitches to get through 3 innings. Uh. You realize that was 11 pitches for the 3rd inning? The opener pitched 2 innings with 39 pitches.
August 14, 20196 yr I am so conflicted giving rep to an Astros fan correcting a rangers fan in a Rangers thread. But you have earned it, sir. Dont spend it all in one place.

August 14, 20196 yr Got me thinking. Found this tidbit: Consider this -- since Deadball ended in 1920: Most no-hitters: Ryan, 7 Most one-hitters: Ryan and Bob Feller, 12 Most two-hitters: Ryan, 18 Most three-hitters: Ryan, 31 In 1973, Chicago's Ralph Garr led off a game against Ryan. He struck out on three pitches that more than 30 years later he still claimed he did not see. He then walked back to the dugout and said the words that marked the one-of-a-kind career of Ryan. https://www.mlb.com/news/two-unbreakable-records-of-nolan-ryan-c265897848

I don’t ever come in here much less post but I saw that in my timeline and was thinking that has to be some sort of record. Intrigued enough to check the box score.
August 14, 20196 yr Author Puig is a free agent after this season. Any interest? We really need a RH bat in the worst way. Mazara just doesn't look like he will ever be what we expected. He's JAG.
August 14, 20196 yr 11:30 game time. Damn. I think the league has figured out our new rookie sensations. They know how to pitch Santana and Willie. And probably Mazara. They did the same thing to Odor last year. He never recovered. Wonder how much time Odor spends at home looking in the mirror wearing his sunglasses, batting helmet and glare thingies. He's too cool for his own good. Take your fucking sunglasses off, Odor. They're fucking up your hitting. Edited August 14, 20196 yr by Irish Wrist Watch
August 14, 20196 yr MLB history being made today with Isiah Kiner-Falefa playing 3B for the Rangers going against Sean Reid-Foley pitching for the Blue Jays: 1. First game in MLB history with 2 players with hyphenated last names playing on opposing teams. 2. (likely) First game in MLB history with a batter going against a pitcher both with hyphenated last names.

August 17, 20196 yr Odor twice in a row took the first pitch high in the strike zone exactly where he likes to swing. Then swings at pitches nowhere near the strike zone. The previous time he swung at ball 4 ad ball 5 after he worked it to a full count. He just seems hopeless.
