Yeah, that's all I remember of him. I was still fairly young when he was a thing.

Loved Captain Kangaroo every morning. This was before early news shows except for the local farm report and the Today Show. 

Trivia: Hal Smith was the voice of Goliath. He was also the perpetually drunk Otis Campbell on The Andy Griffith show. 

Since Steamboat shared an Andy Griffith clip and RPM mentioned Otis the Town Drunk, I'll chip in with one of my favorite Don Knotts moments. Think I shared it on the Shag back in the day, but it's worth repeating.
