Completely understand the sardonic celebrations, but it's also true that if you're playing then you play to win. Congratulations to the team for stepping up and showing out instead of getting their as

Warms my heart to see 5 star players who underachieved their entire careers get hot for 1 game and shit all over 2 star players who overachieved and worked their ass off to get to this game.

Pretty cool that their final game is at MSG.  I guess the other route would have been a 1 and done in the NCAA tourney.

been a fun last few games. Shaka and Co. was able to put a run together against all odds. Pretty impressive even if its the NIT

Lost me here, we played exactly one team with a higher seed than us and had home games all the way through to the final 4 lol

Shaka thanking Roach for smoking weed so he could win the NIT instead of getting bounced in the 1st round of the real tourney

Sugar Bowl champions, CWS, and NIT champions.  Been a fun 365 days. Men's programs taken huge leaps since wandering the desert last 10 years.

Tower lighting... just the tip.

Good season finale boys, it's better to have lost then won than never to have won at all, or something incredibly poignant like that.

They should have been in the real tournament.

But winning the NIT is better than winning nothing at all.

Happy for team that they won a post-season national tournament, finally found an identity, and they got to play at MSG. Would prefer not to call this a championship.

The question has to be asked. Where in the hell were these guys during the later part of the regular season? If they had played two or three games we lost in the regular season with as much as intensity they played the last three, we would have been in the tourney.

This was like winning the Texas Bowl against Mizzou. Going to propel us to a sweet 16 next year, then a final 4 the next!

They should have the NIT champs play the NCAA Women's champs just for laughs.

good to see them play so well without Hayes, although Texas played better @ MSg than the  2 close ones @ FEC .

Thanks Roach, best Horn dunker of all time. Enjoyed your show ma brah.

Well done, Roach and Oset. Congrats on finishing your careers on a high note.

:hookem:

gdangit, is it too much to ask for that type of effort every night?  They actually embodied a havoc style(full of energy) on offense and defense in the NIT.  Why the effort now?

Glad they won.  Maybe they can bottle some of it for next year.  Lipstick on a pig of a year.

Well one was suspended and I am not sure why they finally found an in game identity, but I will not argue that this team had the talent to play and win games in the NCAA tournament
