We should all teach our children the following very valuable lessons: 1. when you are unhappy or want to be somewhere else, you should fake the severity of an injury and then go through 11 doctor

  • No, we want them to be consistent and not be hypocrites. I would prefer that they shut up and dribble, shoot, pitch, hit, tackle or kick but if you are going to be “woke”, don’t stop being woke only

Yeah that was crazy.

Was it from Zion dancing?  Sucks, he tweaked something and the Cans (wisely) shut him down for the night.  No 2nd half for the fans.

I thought Kerwin Roach signed with Charlotte's summer league team, but I look at the box score and didn't see his name listed on the team.

Uhm.... I think we're going to see a lot of these type of nights from RJ.  Barrett's debut:

Quote

RJ Barrett made 4-of-18 from the field for 10 points with five rebounds, one assist, two turnovers and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes before the finish of Friday's game had been postponed.

Kawhi to Clippers? Paul George traded there too?

Wonder what they do with Russ now? Does OKC try to unload him? Could the Knicks trade for him? That team is Russ and a bunch of spares now.

Sixers biggest winners tonight.

Well other than the Clippers yeah I think so.

Who the heck knows. The talk all month in OKC on sports radio has been the possibility of trading Steven Adams. This PG deal comes out of nowhere.

You could trade Westbrook and attempt a SuperSonics circa 2007 rebuild....but you've got the loyalty factor as well as needing a superstar to fill the seats in this small market.

Think about it......every single Thunder game since 2008 has featured at least one future Hall of Famer on the court. Curious how the Okies will respond to lean years.

Totally agree

Okc a lottery team now?

You'd have to think they'd unload Westbrook if they could find someone dumb enough to take his contract.  Knicks, of course?

Looking over the draft picks, they all look backloaded, starting in 2022 and Kawhi and PG would presumably be on their downhill slide by then age wise .  (There's one in 2021 but it's from Miami so that be a good one.)

So, from 2021 to 2026 (six drafts), they will have two picks in each year and in some of those years, both picks will be high:

They're getting:

2021 first round from Miami.

2022 from Clippers

2023 pick swap

2024 first

2025 pick swap

2026 first

Jeez.....

Didn’t they trade a bunch of their own picks for PG?

Holy shit. What a crazy trade. The clippers are gonna be stacked. Guys likely Beverly, Williams, and Harrell are the perfect pieces to put around those two.

Danny Green to the Lakers. 2yr 30 Million

Bahahaha. This exactly how I expected the Lakers to spend their cap if they missed on Kawhi.

Have fun being the second best team in your own town, Lakers.

No. Mainly players (Oladipo and Sabonis) cuz he only had a year left.

And just like that, the Eastern conference is back to being irrelevant until the ECF.

Woj motherfucking nuke!

Edit: I see Chris Haynes had the Kawhi signing first

I don't think you even needed to add "until the ECF"

They tried to send him to the Raptors along with George in exchange for Siakam and whatnot.

You forgot one. They're also getting Miami's 2023 protected pick.

Not a bad deal for OKC.  They weren't winning anything with that roster.  They were looking at second round exits (at best) for the foreseeable future on top of the huge luxury tax they were paying.  Might as well blow that up.

In the short term, they go two good perimeter scorers to go along with Russ.  That gives them 4-5 scoring options, which is something they've never had even in the Durant days.  It's always been Durant, Westbrook, one other guy who is OK, and two other starters who are offensive black holes.  They're a borderline playoff team with this roster but something like a 7 or 8 seed.  Wouldn't surprise to see a miss, though.

Long term, they'll control the draft next decade even if they don't unload the Westbrook contract.  They'll be getting multiple high draft picks for six years.  You'd think at least 2 of them would be big time and another one or two be solid.

I missed that one.  Jeez.  That might be a good one, too.  Jimmy Butler will be 47 years old by then and that will be a lottery pick.

Philly could be pretty salty if Simmons takes a big leap. They're really long and skilled. But yeah, Milwaukee just spent a bunch of money to keep Middleton and Lopez in a league that may have already passed them by.

I'm loving everything about this.  I'm a Lebron fan, but Kawhi to Lakers just makes everything too easy.  I'm loving the look of the NBA next year.
