I'm using a tablet and tweets are easy, but posting a picture seems to be impossible. I don't have a mouse so can't highlight and copy the url. I've tried saving links and pics to no avail. Maybe I'm just sol because I'm using a tablet.

Sorry that I'm so dumb. How do I post an original image that does not have a url? Do I have to upload my image to a website? Thanks.

So is there a consensus on the replacement for imgur? What works, is free, and preferably has mobile apps?

imgbb seems to have a lot of the same functionality on laptop. Paste address or copied image onto the front page, and it will upload.

Not sure about mobile.

If you prefer not to use imgur, there is a workaround that lets you use google drive.

1. Upload the image to drive, then click on the image and "get a shareable link."

2. Paste that link in the URL over here. You now have to change one piece of code

The drive URL will look like this:

//drive.google.com/open?id= followed by the text string of the file

Replace:

open?id=

with this:

uc?export=view&id=

The image will now be viewable on message boards.

That is how I post my favorite Hamm images:

uc?export=view&id=17FQ-AMBY3MZdC_WDY4Nre

imgbb is pretty good. They offer you links to copy after you upload, but you can just paste the img address into Surly. So, after I upload the image, I click on it and then copy the image address on the new page:

Are tweets showing up anyone now? Both on the phone and laptop I don't see them as embedded anymore.

Same.

imgur used to have a feature where it would give you the bbcode with tags. I don't think you need those.

Just copy the image location (or open image in new tab) and paste that URL in here:

e.g. (without the spaces)

https:// i. img ur . com / x25JFvJ . jpg

It’s probably user error on my part but it wouldn’t let me add the imgur link so I just rehosted it on tinypic (haven’t used that site in years) and it let me post that link no problem.

I have always posted pics and memes thru postimages.org

Now, t won't let me post anything. When I past the link in the box, it just turns red and won't post. Anyone else having this problem?
