October 23, 20214 yr i mean the last time he was here Rick Barnes was still our coach, so it's been a while. Edited October 23, 20214 yr by shadow_operative
October 25, 20214 yr Lamarcus Aldridge is just about to go over 20,000 points for his career. KD already has about 24,000. There are only 49 players in history that have more than 20,000 points and I thought "is it possible that UT is the only school with two players over 20,000?" Then I remembered that U of H had Elvin Hayes and Hakeem Olajuwon and quit thinking about it.

October 29, 20214 yr Of course JJ brought up Duke destroying us in New Jersey that night. PJ said that game retired our black uniforms. Todd Wright was furious and said, "get those fucking uniforms out of here!!!"

The list of schools with 2 is predictably not that deep. Here they are: 3 players: UCLA - Kareem, Reggie, Westbrook UH - Hayes, Dream, Drexler UNC - MJ, Vince, Antawn Jamison 2 players: Kansas - Wilt, Paul Pierce LSU - Shaq, Pettit Wake Forest - Duncan, CP Georgetown - Ewing, AI Texas - KD, LMA Also - the out of high school contingent leads all the colleges with 4 guys: LeBron, Kobe, Moses and KG. Also Dwight may hit 20k - he's about 800 away. Edited October 31, 20214 yr by ztejas

November 1, 20214 yr Jarrett Allen is dominating the 1Q in Charlotte. 13 points on 6/7 from the field. edit: make that 15 on 7/8 FG on the two handed putback dunk. Allen 1Q: 15 points, 4 reb (3 OREB), 1 blk, 7/ FG Edited November 1, 20214 yr by shadow_operative

On the other hand it seems/looks like Jaxson Hayes, after a decent rookie campaign, is losing minutes and numbers are going backwards from last year.
November 10, 20214 yr Myles Turner is working on another blocks title early this season. This would be his 3rd - putting him with Ratliff, Hakeem, Mutombo, AD and George Johnson as players with 3 and just behind Kareem, Eaton and Camby who all have 4.
November 12, 20214 yr Amin telling stories about Robert Sarver but I'm posting this here particularly because the person he begins talking about a little after the 19:00 mark is none other than our own Lance Blanks.
November 12, 20214 yr 46 minutes ago, shadow_operative said: Lance. links is a piece of shit? what's the story there? Ive heard Amin talk about his experiences with Lance (without ever mentioning his name) on multiple podcast and the general gist is Lance was a lazy, middle management type whose only goal upon getting the GM gig was maintaining the GM gig. . He starts talking about it on the RInger NBA show with Raja Bell at 17:40 of this podcast.
November 12, 20214 yr Forgot the podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/be/podcast/amin-elhassan-on-his-phoenix-suns-days-shaq-locker/id1109271715?i=1000507751314 Quote from the podcast purportedly said verbatim by Lance Blanks: "I'm the general manager. That means I manage things generally" Amin is a great storyteller and he basically describes Lance as the gm version of Michael Scott from the Office. Edited November 12, 20214 yr by Catdaddyhorn
November 12, 20214 yr Lance also attempted to have a free agent PG workout for the team without getting him to sign waivers which is a baseline NBA protocol checkpoint in those types of circumstances.

November 12, 20214 yr Unless you're a top-2 level executive you don't make shit in an NBA front office. At least that was the case for the basketball side of the front office up until the mid 00s. I believe Amin made it up to VP of basketball Ops or somewhere below that tier. He tells a story about being elated to get a raise that brought him up to 50K. January 25, 20223 yr Not the best bump for Jaxson: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/33141181/new-orleans-pelicans-jaxson-hayes-charged-domestic-violence-battery-police-officer-connection-july-arrest I'm sure many (most?) of the charges will be dropped or pled down, but seems like our Sideshow Jax definitely has some issues to work through.
February 1, 20223 yr Here's a better bump for Jaxson: 19/7/3 (blocks) on 9/10 shooting tonight against Cleveland starting at center in place of JoVal. He's been playing pretty well since the New Year.
