I would like to block the Politics forum in its entirety.  Don't want it to show up in unread content, the main menu, or anything.  Tired of that shit.  Is that possible?

Follow the forums you like. Make a custom named activity and use the filters to show you what you are interested in. Politics threads won't show up in the activity list.

That is huge pain in the ass - opening and following each forum one by one then making a custom filter.  Seems like checking "ignore" for one topic forum would be easier than that.

One way to do this is to go to Browse>Forums and select the Fluid View. Then select the forums whose threads you want to show. From then on, it will only show threads from those forums.
