Some gmail I get, others I don't. I send test email to make sure they have my address correctly, but I don't receive the reply. I confirm they received and replied via text.  Other types of email, non-gmail, are not a problem. This is true for Outlook and for my Spectrum email account. I don't have anyone blocked. Ideas?

Sometimes the way Gmail nests replies, esp. for multi-recip emails, makes me swear I didn't receive a msg.

Try the filters or the search window.

There have been a few times Gmail has marked an address as spam that I don’t agree with, and actually finding the spam folder can be difficult. Try this - I’ll give instructions for iPhone but it should be not impossible to figure out from android or a browser. Click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) on the top right, find where it says “all mail” (highlighted here), and then search for the address your expecting the email from

If you find the email, open it, click the three dots at the top of the screen (not the top of the email), and click “not spam”.

That should fix it for that address going forward.

Unless it’s something else entirely, but that makes the most sense.

I’m confused by this.  You’re in Gmail but not seeing emails from other people?  Or are other people sending you email from gmail and you’re not receiving them?

Gmails, from other people, do not show up in my Outlook.

Check blocked senders. settings/mail/junk email.

Check to see if they conform to a rule you have set up. settings/mail/rules

Check to see if using Focused Inbox. Settings/mail/layout/don't sort my messages
