Injuries, youth, and losing Clemens and the pitchers we did have contributed to our shitiness. Many thought this year was going to be a step back in terms of record. That said, two things are very wor

It all started when that bro stopped the LSU bus and hit it with a broom.

  • This is so bad that Del Conte is thinking of making Shaka the interim baseball coach.

that'll do it.  probably see another 120 pitch complete game.

WTF Zubia...... take strike 3 right down the middle

can we just go ahead and start every game thread with the have to wake up the bats link.

we are going to fucking waste all that work we did against a really tough schedule at the beginning of the season.

Thx for posting on this thread tonight folks....

Guess it's true.... misery likes company.

At the beginning of the year when we were not  hitting everyone was saying the schedule and quality pitching and and pitchers ahead of hitters and all that.

Now its its apparent we are terrible at the plate. We don’t have a single hitter over .300 (save Gauntt who has three at bats). Not a single one.

If we aren’t gifted walks it is extremely difficult for us to score.  Couple that with average pitching and below average fielding (and McCann chasing balls 1-4 times a game) and you get what you see.

On the upside they have shown they can catch fire and they compete, but I think there is a def talent gap.  Either we aren’t recruiting or we aren’t developing them.  Should make for an interesting stretch run to see if we can squeak into and make some postseason noise.

And as I type this another ball past McCann.  Not surprised.

And a base hit scores McCanns run.

I harp on him bc he can’t stop balls thrown in the lower half it makes pitchers leery to throw there. Then they elevate.  And it gets pounded.  So his inability to catch is really really hurting our pitching.

He’s gotta be mind fucked from the number of warning track shots he’s hit this year

Or the strikeouts.

You remember the inning? Gonna see if I can rewind back to it.

IIRC, he was kinda knocking the shit out of the ball earlier in the year only for it to be caught on the warning track or some outfielder making some freakish catch. Though it did piss me off last year when Hamilton had that elevate like hr swing while Zubia has this flat line drive kind of swing.

  • Agree with first  3 paragraphs.
  • Injuries to Hamilton and DJ are killing the defense...  and to some extent hurting the offense.
  • Pierce just brought in a good class in his first complete year of recruiting.  The Freshman 2B, and Kennedy have performed well for their youth.
  • Lack of roster talent is partially Augie's fault, and part Pierce's for not bringing in a few more Juco's.
  • Zubia, Reynolds and Ellis do fall on current staff for lack of development.

And we have a volunteer pitching coach.  And our pitchers are not good. Not saying that’s a coincidence but maybe it is?

Well, we had fallen off talent and recruiting and win-wise.  Pierce did make his own fortune last year to help with the highly ranked class.

Zubia, Reynolds, and Ellis are his, but still "transition-y" players and not necessarily overly talented.

How exactly were we supposed to bring in more JUCO’s when we had Hamilton, DJ, Todd, Ellis, Reynolds and Hibbeler all slated as starters with guys like Shaw and McCann who had an ocean of playing time. Then guys like Ford, Kennedy and Reagan coming in? Not to mention the amount of pitchers we returned/brought in?

Who cares

They are calling those wild pitches but McCann makes ZERO effort to block the ball. He’s lazy with the glove and it gets away.

Getting pissed watching McCann back hand everything in or near the dirt with guys on base. Lazy as fuck and it's cost us 2.. Now 3 runs in this game. Fucking pathetic

book is easy on us.  just don't walk us and we can't score.  we rarely hit line drives anywhere.

KSU was a complete fucking disaster.  it will be a miracle if we make the tournament.

Blind squirrels and nuts.

Not excusing but didn’t McCann get hit in the nuts pretty badly not too long ago?

When your catcher is lazy you can’t throw down

When you can’t throw down you elevate and walk a lot or get drilled

Liked your first 3 paragraphs from before... went back and fixed it.

Pitching falls on both Pierce and the pitching coach Haig.... Pierce coached pitchers at Rice.

Haig is a hell of a coach..... when most of Better pitchers on the roster are young arms, then you get the current results.

5 wild pitches in this game. At least 3 are on him. We lead the b12 in wild pitches. I just don't get how you catch at this level, this long, without taking pride in being a wall for your pitchers.

Jesus fuck, they’re trying to bunt up 6, we can’t even allow that.

Sounds like you have better handle on the roster than me.... Sorry -- my bad.

Just thought there was room for 2 more juco hitters to be added to 2019 roster.
