July 30, 20187 yr Author North American hard court season kicks off this week. The long-time WTA Stanford Premier stop has moved south to San Jose. San Jose draw pdf Garbine, Keys, & the Sistas headline. Washington DC has an ATP 500 & WTA International. Men's draw pdf Ladies' draw pdf Caroline & Sloane are top 2. And now for my yearly rant about this week's WTA TV schedule. Two tourneys in our fucking country, exactly FOUR matches are televised. ESPN2 has the San Jose semis & final, TC has the DC final. Even fucking better, the two finals are on at the exact same fucking time (next Sunday @ 4:00p). Great planning, WTA. At least ESPN3 appears to have daily extra San Jose coverage, not that ESPN+ bullshit. Something happened between TC & the Citi Open a couple years ago that cost them their WTA rights. So ridiculous.
July 30, 20187 yr The 2 American teens I’m the biggest buyer on are both Russian-Americans. Sofia kenin and amanda anisimova. Both are playing the San Jose tournament this week which was formerly the Stanford open
July 30, 20187 yr Author Hey, who said that shit was formerly Stanford?! Edited July 30, 20187 yr by spystud13
July 31, 20187 yr Serena is scheduled to play the night session Tuesday at San Jose against Konta. Wonder if she'll withdraw just before the match or if she'll actually play.
August 1, 20187 yr Serena has taken the court. I guess she'll play afterall. It's in silicon valley which I think is where her and her husband live so perhaps it was convenient for her to play
August 1, 20187 yr Serena got rekt 1,0 by Konta. Pathetic. Before the match Announcers were talking about a 3 generation black family that was in attendance watching Serena for the first time. Moral of the story, is don’t bother watching Serena play if it’s not a slam because she doesn’t try Edited August 1, 20187 yr by perfectchaos007
August 2, 20187 yr anyone see Thiem get blasted off the court 1st round yesterday? He was totally gassed from the start.
August 2, 20187 yr Author Best part about yesterday was Benoit Paire basically having to pay $9K for the right to lose in DC’s first round. That was the difference between his earnings & his fine.
August 3, 20187 yr Author Murray played til 3am last night, so withdrew today. And could be an Angie/Serena R2 in Montreal next week.

August 5, 20187 yr Author A. Zverev wins DC. Sakkari/Buzarnescu in San Jose on ESPN2, Vekic/Kuzy in DC on TC at the top of the hour.
August 5, 20187 yr Author Vekic lost 4 championship points in the 2nd, got boat-raced in the 3rd. This one’s gonna sting for awhile
August 7, 20187 yr Author Genie knocked out of her hometown Montreal, but goddamn she looked good today.

August 8, 20187 yr Wow. Chinese player just received a six-month ban for trying to bribe her doubles' partner to withdraw from a tournament: https://www.tampabay.com/chinese-tennis-player-peng-shuai-banned--months-ap_sports2f3e2e5c3a5b49bb82ee4f082bb0aa6a
August 9, 20187 yr Author Sucks half of that is suspended, she deserves all of it. The partner was Alison Van Uytvanck.
August 10, 20187 yr Tough draw for Nadal. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Cilic takes it - Rafa having trouble with his 1st serve and Cilic looked immaculate against Diego.
August 10, 20187 yr Somehow I totally missed this from yesterday Edited August 10, 20187 yr by satyanash
August 10, 20187 yr Zverev just suffered one of the worst chokes of the year. Tsitsipas' improbable run continues.
August 10, 20187 yr Author Simona just demolished Garcia in the second, about as well as she can play. Rafa/Cilic on ESPN2 now.
August 11, 20187 yr Holy Christ, this is the worst I've seen Rafa look since 2016. He looks absolutely horrendous. Spraying garbage moonballs all over the place.
August 11, 20187 yr Nadal had literally no business winning that match and did. Cilic had no tactic beyond ballbashing while redlining and he somehow lost with a few unclutch shanks. Unreal.

August 12, 20187 yr This third set is just ugly. Both women are tired and can’t stay focused for more than a few points
August 12, 20187 yr Too many chances blown for Stephens to win this. None bigger than those 4 set points she lost in the first set
August 17, 20187 yr I think Serena's mind was elsewhere: http://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_/id/24395862/serena-williams-reveals-learned-parole-sister-killer-just-match
August 17, 20187 yr i think serena's suffering from postpartum depression and hasn't really gotten a handle on it. to add this on top of it is crushing.
August 17, 20187 yr Author That is incredibly mis-reported. He was paroled in March, he had just been re-arrested that night or two before for a parole violation. So if there was anywhere on this planet he could have been less of a threat was where he was then. This story got so much traction because of his re-arrest, not his parole.
August 17, 20187 yr Author https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/man-sentenced-killing-serena-venus-014707840.html Quote A mugshot of Maxfield - taken before his release on March 8 this year and obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com - shows his appearance today.
